Wow. Insane game.

What was the rationale for the disallowed goal?

Been trying to understand it since it was disallowed. Fafa was in an offside position when Junqua headed it. Didn't make an attempt on the ball and the ref had a lengthy convo with the AR. Decided at the end that it was offside and the goal was disallowed. Was shocked that there was no VAR.

Loved the passion but the new dynamic of all the Mexican national fans there was not all possitive obviously. I hope the org does something to get that trash behavior stamped out. I really felt the difference HH made in the team, even if only hownit affected their attitude.

They can't put a rubber led bracelet on every single seat in the stadium and not expect some to get thrown onto the pitch!

The disallowed goal was extremely confusing in stadium. No replays and no explanation and obviously the goal scorer was not off sides

Are Houston soccer fans always as trashy as Mexico? That was a terrible display

The trashiest fan anywhere near me tonight was a fc frisco fan obnoxiously getting in everyone's faces

I wonder if fan misbehavior increases with temperature like crime does. Because I think it was 175 degrees at the game last night.

That's worse than throwing bottles at players on the field?

The little rubber wristband giveaways are not bottles

I'd prefer it not happen. There were thousands of Mexico fans there for Hector's debut and the frisco players taunting the fans after getting dominated all night and scoring on one counter were basically asking for it from that crowd. I liked the energy in the stadium last night. Just don't give away throwables and it won't happen again.

Complete garbage logic. Pearl clutching at the behavior of the other team's fans. This thread went from no posts to Big Soccer in a matter of days.

Stay classy Houston.

And I just rewatched. It was beer cans, cups, water bottles, and those wrist bands.

I'm not defending the bottle/can throwing, that's way outta line but I will say I've been to quite a few Dynamo games and bottle throwing is out of character for most Dynamo fans. I'm not saying it never happens but it never happens in the way that it did last night.

Given the heated nature of the rivalry last night on top of the ludicrous refereeing decision, I can understand why a fan would want to throw but actually letting loose with full bottles and beer cans is pathetic and classless.

Seems to remind me of US Mexico in Denver.

At least we started the Hector Herrera Era off with an exciting Texas Derby in front of a sellout crowd.

I've been to many and I've never seen it before. ...Saturday was different.. maybe because Frisco was in town, maybe because a fireworks show was scheduled for after the match, maybe because it was 105 degrees outside... oh and Hector was making his debut. It was sold out with Mexican national team fans going crazy for Hector. I don't really want Dynamo games to all feel like Mexico games, but I did like the energy and all those butts in seats. When Jesus Ferrera did nothing all night while his team was getting dominated for the most part, Dynamo had a goal disallowed even though the goal scorer was clearly onside and there was never an explanation or replay in the stadium, then Jesus scores on that one late counter (great goal for him btw), he was right up in the fans' faces motioning for them to come at him.. He knew that Mexico crowd was going to throw their wrist bands, and then when the asst coach comes up with him giving the middle finger right at the fans like that, they knew more wrist bands and a beer can or two were going to fly. Not excusing it, but I think it will be more like a one time thing after the Hector excitement wears off.

It was Arriola that was motioning to the fans. Ferrara was holding up his crest.

Strawman? They didn't flip the bird.

No excuse to throw things at a player. None.

a can shouldn't have been thrown afterwards, but they did go straight to the supporters and flicked them off.

Yes not only were they flipping the bird ..Paul arriola was taunting as well you don't have anything for the behavior of the fc Dallas players ? Gfto
KCup17
How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
So flipping the bird and taunting are good reasons for fans to assault players?

Yeah... okay. Throwing bottles and full beer cans is a classless thing to do regardless the circumstances.

I'm not even an FC Dallas sympathizer either. I think they have a classless organization and I hate them. Flipping us off and taunting us is something I expect them to do. I just would expect better from our fan base.
Dre_00
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I don't think anyone has said that there's a good reason to throw beer cans at someone. At least not at a soccer game.

But I also don't think that the players are blameless. So often, when fans go too far and do something inappropriate and unacceptable, there's this tendency to think that the fan acted in a bubble completely separated from his environment when that's obviously not the case.

If players on a team antagonize opposing fans and flip them off, then they should be held accountable for inappropriate behavior. Saying that doesn't excuse fans who throw crap at them in response. Both parties can be in the wrong.

It's a fine line to be sure and players aren't always doing something inappropriate before getting something thrown at them. They often aren't actually. But if they are, why can't that be called out as well?

Well, based on comments/# of pages on a thread, the 2022 Houston Dynamo have already surpassed the 2021 edition. Three pages total with 86 comments on 2021 squad. Five pages and counting on 2022. Of course, having troll posts rile up the fan base helps. I'm going to place this success squarely at the feet of Hector Herrera! Vamos, putos!
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

If we all started trashing HH I have a feeling the troll would start calling us low IQ soccer fans for not loving him.
