It's an odd story for sure, and that article doesn't do a great job telling it, but everything is pointing to Leeds losing the case and facing a transfer ban if they don't pay the first installment plus interest.

Basically they didn't want the player but they had a mandatory transfer fee in the deal tied to promotion. So they sent him back when the deal was supposed to end in July trying to avoid paying for him when they got promoted at the end of the Covid summer season… problem is, they evidently have emails from April where they ask Leipzig if they can keep him till the end of the longer Covid season and Leipzig agree. If true, they're really dumb trying to pull this stunt.

The reporter did say his tablet failed on him.

Apart from the two wins, not a good look for US soccer in this window. Loss to Canada and playing in absurd conditions vs Honduras. Wins are good, but I wouldn't say we've gained any fans
