He seems like a good kid, and I imagine he is genuinely torn by this decision because some relationships and familiarity has formed (and because playing in a WC would be really cool). But at the end of the day, he's really a German kid who happens to have a US citizenship. I'd bet the farm that his interest in coming to our camps in the past was almost entirely because he wasn't getting any attention from Germany and it gave his an opportunity for international exposure. All that changed over the past year.
