I feel like I saw his agent was Deco who took no cut and that Deco also works for Barca or represents them in some capacity. Huge conflict of interest.

So I saw an article about the Barca situation. It sounds like they have sold off a lot of there media rights revenue in the future for cash now to be able to sign players. They seem to be in win now and damn the future mode by giving up future revenue for cash today.

Yes & No. They are banking on CL money and merchandise sales on new players to help recover from those future revenue loss. Reality... they are playing a very dangerous game and if they slip they are screwed.

I think if they signed an mbappe it'd be more no than yes. That's the big problem. Ronaldo and Messi drove merchandising for the two big Spanish clubs in a way that none of the barca players really move the needle. Real missed big when mbappe stayed in France.

I'm now envisioning this lever pulling bit like a game show. With each lever, Laporta increases the possibility of the ultimate reward (Lewa et al) but also the ultimate risk of the platform opening up and him falling to some very dangerous looking but also slightly comedic outcome.

Now that I think about it, they probably should have made this whole ordeal into a game show. Probably could have raised a few bucks.

Iniesta not actually coaching in Japan right now (dead last in the league I believe). He's probably looking for hosts and script writers for this exact show.
