I can't wait for Sept 2. Leeds owner says they're preparing a worldwide media blitz if Barca's Raphina money doesn't come in by the deadline.

I added the comments. Sounds like the agent put them in a tough spot. They preferred to deal with Chelsea, but ultimately couldn't.
They killed his smile & spirit so fast, when he’s done absolutely nothing wrong

So I saw an article about the Barca situation. It sounds like they have sold off a lot of there media rights revenue in the future for cash now to be able to sign players. They seem to be in win now and damn the future mode by giving up future revenue for cash today.
That's an understatementAustinScubaAg said:

Yes & No. They are banking on CL money and merchandise sales on new players to help recover from those future revenue loss. Reality... they are playing a very dangerous game and if they slip they are screwed.AustinScubaAg said:

You're giving them too much credit. They've had CL money and merchandise sales for a long time and we can see where that's gotten themchjoak said:Yes & No. They are banking on CL money and merchandise sales on new players to help recover from those future revenue loss. I'm now envisioning this lever pulling bit like a game show. With each lever, Laporta increases the possibility of the ultimate reward (Lewa et al) but also the ultimate risk of the platform opening up and him falling to some very dangerous looking but also slightly comedic outcome.
Now that I think about it, they probably should have made this whole ordeal into a game show. Probably could have raised a few bucks.
