Have been to London before, but have never ventured out of town. Used the subway system, no issues there. With all that said, I will be going back to London on 02.10 with arrival at Heathrow Term 2 8:21 AM on 02.11. Am lining up tickets for the following matches for this trip...

SAT 11
TOT x LEI, 3:00 PM KO

SUN 12
MUN x LEE, 2:00 PM KO

MON 13
LIV x EVE, 8:00 PM KO

WED 15
ARS x MCI 7:30 PM KO (this is already getting hard to get).

SAT 18
CHE x SOU 3:00 PM KO

SUN 19
TOT x WHU 3:30 PM KO
(replaced by MUN vs LC)

Questions:
Getting around London isn't an issue (House we have secured is near Elephant Castle). Is it conceivable to leave LEI after that match and travel to Leeds for their match on Sunday vs United, then leave Leeds Mon 13th AM, travel to LIV and get back to London early AM TUE 14 after the LIV match? Or is it better to skip the Leeds match completely and leave for Anfield at some point on MON 13th and return to London early 14th? My travel via rail outside of London has been nil over the years so I'm asking. Finally, what is the best website to go to in an attempt to analyze travel costs and times?

Mucho Gracias.
Peace for Ukraine!

Look up the routes on rail system. Should be doable. Leicester to Leeds isn't far and Liverpool is really close to Leeds.

If I had a choice between Leicester and Leeds-United I would take Leeds every time. Seeing that and Liverpool-Everton back to back would be awesome.

Have fun!

I live in England right now and the rail is great usually. That said, there's loads of strikes right now and they are designed for maximum disruption and happening more and more often. So if you really want to hit this many matches around England, you need to really think about a contingency of driving some.

In the schedule itself, the only one that concerns me is the Leicester-Leeds timing because they are a fair bit apart and lots of the services over the weekend either stop or reduce by 6 or so on a Saturday night and I know a 2:00 starts seems late enough but Sundays stuff tends to open way later and close way earlier in England.

We leave IAH on 2.10, land at Heathrow the next AM and the fun begins. If everything can be engineered, this will be a one in a lifetime gig. School is out for Klein schools the week of the 13th so this will work out if everything gets settled.
Peace for Ukraine!

This sounds awesome. Good luck and tell us all about it!

I'd be prepared mentally to miss a few of those matches. They change the schedule at the drop of a hat but also they're good about refunds.

My daughter in-laws older brother is a research scientist at Kings Hospital in London. He has been dealing with my son on putting this together.

To top it off, this is a birthday present from my family to me when I turned 70 in October 22.
Peace for Ukraine!

I've been told that. My son has a spreadsheet he is working with and all the possibilities.

The rail strikes are *usually* announced a couple weeks or so in advance so hopefully you'd have some time to pivot if that happens.

Just Google it every couple days or whatever and you can stay in the loop

Gonna chime in here as Monarch is my father.

Wanted to ask if anyone has any advice for obtaining match tickets outside of getting memberships to the clubs you want to see and then just hounding their ticket exchange platform? That is the current plan at the moment for us since you can't purchase via a stubhub like we can here in the states.

Look on social media pages for [insert club] USA supporter's club. Tell them what you're up to and you might be able to get solid tickets at realistic prices. Caveat: the people that I know who have succeeded with this method were only looking to get tickets for clubs they actually support.

Thanks for the advice. I've actually done this twice for Leicester (I'm the reason why that one is on the schedule lol) and have had some success. Will see if we can do something similar for these other matches too.

BKR is really busting his chops to get this put together and I really appreciate the effort. We will probably end up seeing five matches approx between all levels in the nine days we are there. You're a good man son. Love you.

We're doing a trip as well, arriving your last weekend.

I found the Trainline app really helpful. Since there's two of us we got the two-together rail card, think it was about $30 and gave about 1/3 off train tickets.

How are you planning on acquiring your Tottenham tickets?

More or less have found a couple of brokers on facebook that can source most of the tickets we are after. I could end up looking like an idiot on this but I've done a fair amount of research with the ones I've found and talked to a couple of them on the phone to where I'm comfortable enough that I won't get scammed. But this seemed to be the cheapest option for most of the matches we wanted to go to. Getting tickets at "face value" seems to be gold dust as I've basically struck out on that effort. Haven't pulled the trigger just yet but likely will by the end of the weekend.

TICKETS SECURED:
SAT 11 - LEI v TOT
- Tickets secured through the club. I already had a membership and anticipated fox being sh*t this year so that wasn't too challenging.

SAT 18 - BRE v CRY
- Got lucky buying memberships for cheap and was able to obtain tickets the morning they went on sale.

TICKETS KINDA SECURED:
- Story here is that we are purchasing through a broker I found on facebook that primarily sells Liverpool tickets but does selling of other clubs as well. I spent hours vetting him through facebook and various other groups as well as contacting some of his prior customers via facebook asking how their experiences were to try and make sure we weren't going to end up getting screwed but he was good with payment at the gate so not a ton of risk up front. Prices were slightly cheaper than the various websites you can look to. Having sold a lot of tickets myself, I feel pretty decent about it. My only concern is if he will actually be able to come through on the ARS v MCI match.

MON 13 - LIV v EVE
WED 15 - ARS x MCI
SUN 19 - TOT x WHU

STILL TRYING TO CONVINCE DAD:
SUN 12 - LEE v MUN
- Still haven't successfully convinced Dad that we should make this match. Words of encouragement are appreciated. I think out of the slate of matches, this might be just as intense as the ARS v MCI match (assuming the tickets workout).

POTENTIAL MATCH ADD:
TUE 14 - QPR v SUNDERLAND
- Had originally talked about wanting to have a non-PL match to attend. Could squeeze this one in if we decide to virtually at the last min in terms of being able to get tickets. With home base being in London its pretty easy if we get the itch.

That Leeds v United game is the #2 game I'd want to go to on your list (behind Merseyside but ahead of Ars v City).

Elland Road against a big team should be an amazing atmosphere

Honestly of all those games, Leeds-Man U at Elland Road would be my number 1 option. Huge rivalry, great atmosphere, big game.

Do you mind sharing the broker that you found if it doesn't hurt your chances of getting the tickets? I'm going to the Arsenal vs Brentford (2/11) and arsenal vs man city (2/15). I was also looking at the Leeds vs Man U and Liverpool vs Everton games if I can find tickets.

Yeah, so we are going to Leeds. At one time Leeds was the power in the EPL, they dropped off, had some off the pitch issues and sunk out of sight for awhile. I am interested in seeing them play.

BKR is right; might not have this chance again so might as well do it now. Army-Navy game is on our radar for down the road, so we can work on that too. Really looking forward to this now that we are 24 days out roughly!
Peace for Ukraine!

Here's one for somebody...transit from Heathrow to the house we are leasing. I have been in touch with a few companies that operate out of Heathrow and the RT rate for 6 pcs of luggage in a Mercedes seems to be around $225-240.00. The driver will pick us up at Term 2, take us to where we are staying in Elephant Castle area and take us back to the airport on our departure day. Might do the subway gig but am leery of pulling luggage through the airport and onto a train, etc. Plus I have always had somebody pick me up in the past.

Suggestions on a better, cheaper way maybe?

I have to ask… because it is the most eyebrow raising choice in your planning: why are you staying around Elephant and Castle? It's not an unsafe or bad neighborhood.. but just not an area I'd peg to out of towners staying in.

You can get to Elephant and Castle from Heathrow via the Express and then take Bakerloo from Paddington and it ends at Elephant and Castle. I'm on the Bakerloo through central London most mornings during peak commute times and it's not too crowded/uncomfortable.

Depends on how easy it is for you all to get around really. If I'm traveling on my own somewhere, I nearly always take the train. It's usually a tad quicker than a car (crazy but true) to every airport and way cheaper. If I have my family in tow, I get a car. My Dad is a little over 70 and was here in October and has been here a few times to visit. He's done the trains before and can make it work from Heathrow into London but only does cars now because the luggage and hassle are a bit much for him for what it is worth.
