I missed Miazga. Glad he's back. Good to see Pomykal back with the boys too.

Horrible un-creative and un-aggressive effort all around for too long in this match, but good minutes for some young guys.

The ball from Yedlin that led to the free goal for MX was unforgivable. Long is too slow. Ball needed to be behind Long; not in front of Long. I won't blame Sean for not saving a 1v1 like that.

It wasn't a lot of Mexico's first choice players nor ours. Both probably happy with a draw in a "meaningless" friendly.

However, guys like Cowell, Sonora, Aiden Morris, and Wiley, what a great experience!

Glad we found a way to not lose. Also glad we got some of those young guys a full senior team camp experience and a little PT.

My galaxy brain take is that *all* domestic friendlies should be played in places where you're going to at least have a 50/50 split crowd. 1) that's how you gain new fans and grow the appeal of the NT and 2) it'll take the sting or anxiety out of away CONCACAF matches to a small extent.

at home you want them to have a 50% supporting crowd so they can go on the road to play in front of a 99.9% against crowd?

I want the squad to know what playing in front of a hostile crowd is like before they have to do it in qualifying or tourney play, yes. In the past, US Soccer has shied away from venues that might let opposition fans become the majority. Even in "meaningless" friendlies. I think that's the wrong approach.

We should also play in cow pastures and hire refs from the local high school ref pool.

I'm half serious. Get all the ticket revenue and TV money from a home game, but make it feel as CONCACAFy as possible.

Kind of funny reading the comments about the quality of play.

Seriously, what did anyone expect? Its a FRIENDLY (match means absolutely zero), with a bunch of unknowns getting PT for the first time.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

Ball was from Acosta to Long, not Yedlin.

It was a bad ball, but Long has to react better than that.

I've seen all the Americans play except the USL kid.

Not unknowns for a true American soccer fan.

Well aren't you special?!?

So hyperbole aside, I had never heard of Alan Sonora, Caleb Wiley or Aidan Morris. I recognized Vazquez and Cowell from recent news I had read about each of them but had not seen them play. I guess I should have said "a bunch of 3rd and 4th teamers with a few guys I've never heard of."

I blame it on the announcers. Not two minutes earlier they were talking about Johnson's 8 or 900+ minute shutout streak dating back 12 years. (agree that it was just an absolutely garbage play)
