First, if you're trying to find a team to watch - don't limit yourself to the EPL. Yes, it's the most popular, but there is so much fun soccer/football to watch that you'll really be missing out.

Second also look at the MLS - watching on TV is great, but it doesn't beat watching it in person. The Leagues Cup between MLS and Liga MX starts soon. One of things I love about MLS is that it is a channel for many S American players who aspire to play in Europe. It's also an opportunity to watch some of our developing USMNT talent.

You're also in a great time of year where many European clubs tour the US. A few years ago, we watched Tottenham play PSG. Last year, we saw Arsenal play our local MLS team and my son got signatures from many of their players. It was fun (and frustrating at the end) seeing that same team challenge for the EPL title.

As far as picking an EPL team - just watch. You will start to notice that you're pulling for one team over the others. Or you will find a few players or a coach that draw you in. I can't stand City, but I watch them because they've assembled one of the best squads under one of the best coaches. We started pulling for Liverpool about five years ago and haven't changed. We had overpriced hospitality tickets to see Liverpool v Fulham (another team worth watching) but it was rescheduled due to Fulham's FA cup play. Thankfully Liverpool was great to work with and refunded our money.

Oh, as you get in to it, find the local supporters club for your team and watch a few matches with them. That's where you'll start to get more into the backstories and passions that make English football what it is.

Hey 59:

I'm currently in Amsterdam with my wife finishing another Viking river cruise northbound on the Rhine.

Everything is cool in Klein; school is out for the summer and doesn't start back up until 08.09 so we have maybe 2 full months left of very little to do.

Bearkatrunner88 and I are looking at taking a swing through Germany in the future; not sure when, but I would like to go to a Bundesliga game or two or three, maybe crossing the border into Swiss or Austria or maybe in to Holland too. That is a lot of driving but at least all of the Euro countries drive on the right side of the street! We have talked about going back to the UK, but I think the German stuff would come up first.

Take care of the family.
