This pisses me off so much. They stop the game for a minute to treat them and then let play go on for another 2-3 and then everton score.

I turned the game off after the equalizer. Didn't know all that crap happened!

So many insane decisions by Oliver it's hard to know where to start. Did a couple benefit Everton? Yeah, but the big ones all went against Liverpool, so I do feel a little cheated. Slot and an assistant getting immediate reds when they approached Oliver after the final whistle is ridiculous too.

Nice to be seven points clear and get a point even when we played like garbage, so I can't stay mad long.

Never ventured over here to post, but I am PISSED and gotta vent. I'll preface by saying that Michael Oliver isn't THE ONLY reason we lost this game. We didn't play well. Our first touch was atrocious all game long and we encouraged the slugfest nature of that game, but I thought we played well enough to win a complete slugfest that was dropped into a powder keg of a stadium.

With that being said, Michael Oliver is a trash can and doesn't need to be employed. His first mistake was letting WAY too much go in the first 30 minutes, and that goes both ways. Everton were all over our heels all afternoon and absolutely zero calls, so that juts encouraged more and more and more. Then at the end of the first half the crowd got to him and he was beholden to them at almost every turn the rest of the game.

His second mistake is completely whiffing on multiple foul calls that went against us, the first goal being one. Horrible.

His last mistake was giving Everton THREE EXTRA MINUTES because their own players plowed into each other. Ridiculous and BS.

As a referee you cannot let the crowd affect the game through you, and he absolutely did. Piss poor from him.

Everton player went to taunt the visiting fans, CuJo flipped out and attacked him so they both got reds. Then Slot and an AC were given reds as they went out to talk to Oliver after the whistle. Apparently for dissent but the card was out before they had time to say much. (The coaches are getting a two match ban I saw this morning.)

Slot with a 2 game touch line ban for his red due to using offensive and abusive or insulting language. Can't tell a thing in the 5 sec encounter and handshake with Oliver as he was pulling out the red card.

Anyways, gotta put it behind them and beat the Wolves at home this weekend because it's then at City, at Villa, and at home to Newcastle all within like 10 days.

I would be surprised if Liverpool don't appeal the red and try to get the touchline ban reduced to one game. Curtis will most definitely be out a bit. The season is in the next 14 days imo. City, Villa and Newcastle. Get through that spell with 7 or more points and you are probably fine, but I'd be kidding myself if I didn't say I was pretty nervous, especially with how we just played.

All those reports of Slot serving a two match ban were based off a statement on the Premier League website saying he would be banned for two matches. That statement has since been removed so it is now up in the air.

But we all know that Michael Oliver has ties to the UAE and Sheikh Mansour (the owners of Man City). He's been on the payroll of their league for a while now. But PGMOL see no conflict of interest. (IMO, he should not be allowed to referee any game involving Man City or title challengers, Arsenal and Liverpool in recent times or whoever it is if and when the fortunes at the top change).

So Slot walks over to Oliver after the game and the scuffle, presumably to talk about the insane 2-3 FULL minutes he added to the already ridiculous 5 stoppage time minutes and about said scuffle. But, not even 5 seconds later, Slot is shown a red card for "offensive, insulting, or abusive language." This carries a standard two match ban, a fact that Oliver most certainly knows, as evidenced by his quick reactions. So Slot is now slated to miss Wolves and away to Villa.

Liverpool are surely to appeal, which will delay the two match ban to after Sunday. The risk of an appeal is that the number of games banned could increase. So it is probably more likely that Slot does manage the Wolves game and will instead be banned for our two away games to Villa and, you guessed it, Manchester City. That third game he could be banned for you ask? Newcastle. So our three most important games in this fixture congestion.

It's UNREAL that Oliver is allowed anywhere near Arsenal, Liverpool, United, City, Newcastle, Chelsea etc. He has no business being a referee in the EPL period, but especially for large, emotionally charged games. Again, I don't think we played up to our standard, but Oliver let the crowd and game become emotionally charged, which then led to missed calls, poor calls, etc. ALL. GAME. LONG.

I still think we win the league, especially with Arsenals injury situation growing by the day, but dropping those two points hurts a lot right now and puts that much more pressure on the lads.

Also, I was pretty excited about being able to have a one-game scoreboard at Goodison for life.

Sounds like Gomez may miss most of the remainder of the season. How quickly things can change in this league. Game should have been over yesterday with 3 points and no reds and Gomez lost in previous.

That being said, need to get in better form as well to win this thing.

I don't think we played that poorly yesterday given the context of the game other than first touches and a few defensive mental lapses that happen in just about every game, but my biggest issue was we couldn't impose our will and style onto the game like Everton could. Now, I think a large part of that was because Everton were hacking, slashing and dragging us into the mire and not being punished for it, but our inability to control the ball in their half was a part of it as well.

I am fine with a physical game, and I like it for the most part, but when a team is deliberately trying to hack and slash you to a point where the game has no rhythm and it's beginning to not resemble football at the highest level, then imo you have to blow you whistle more and get the game back on track.

Any reason why they played this during Champions league matches?

Makeup from a pretty serious winter storm the Northwest UK had in December. Game was postponed because they had 50+ MPH winds and quite a bit of snow on the ground. It was the game right before we played United at home.

There's absolutely no energy in this game, and I think that makes a big difference. It's still also a complete 180 from the way Klopp wanted to play. Klopp was 100% heavy metal football at all times, and it was fun/exciting, whereas Slot is much more methodical and plodding, especially in the build up. And while we press, we do not press at the rate and vigor at which Klopp wanted us to. You can tell that Slot would like kill games off a lot more.

100%. I am totally fine killing games off, not getting as much going forward etc., but you can't be attempting cross field pass, under hitting them, and taking AWFUL touches. The biggest and worst thing I have seen from us over the past few games and weeks is just how bad our first touches have been.

Pereira has completely out coached Slot after halftime. Even before we went into "Kill the game" mode, wolves has been on the attack and had good possession.

Awful performance. Very, very fortunate to get 3 points. Produced almost zero chances in second half and really no good shots on goal all game.

Again, form better pickup drastically or the next 3 games will have us off the top of the table potentially.

And kudos to Quansah….saved the game with an amazing save

Frustrating game to watch, but taking 3 points in a game we deserved to lose is awesome
