I don't think you are supposed to pay until you get the ticket. So if I traded it, whoever gets it will have to pay when it converts to a ticket.

Supposedly there were lots of people complaining about getting charged but not getting their RTT. I suspect someone tried to fix that and that led to the $0 thing, which folks on Reddit are shocked was happening. Now the conversion portion of the site is completely down.

Good luck… I suspect they'll come make you pay. There's zero chance they let you see who makes your group stage match and then decide to pay or not.

However… there are a few internet lawyers saying that FIFA has to abide by this because they had a transaction screen that showed $0 due as a final price… you might've really lucked out and hit the site at just the right time.

What's the one game with plenty of availability? It's that USA WC opener in LA (M4) where those idiots are charging $1,940 for Cat 2 and $2,735 for Cat 1. (Cat 3 and 4 are gone because they barely existed anyways.)

I'm starting to see category 4 tickets on Seatgeek and Stubhub in the 200-300 range.

And I got the email. They want their $820 for me to keep my 2 RTTs.

That sucks. How's the marketplace prices for the game you picked? Could you bail on those and get most of your money back?

Honestly I felt like the only way the RTB + ticket price was gonna be remotely worth it was to get a knockout round and guarantee a pretty good game. Last thing I wanted was to pay all that money and get stuck with a crap draw. Just food for thought.

I would have loved to make all the Houston games but depends on cost. I have a budget I'm willing to spend if that's for 5 games....or 2 games. And I'm fine with cheap seats just to be there and see as many games in person but I decided long ago the best approach is budget...and if it works I go....if not, I watch on TV.

I take that approach to those right to buy deals...that money I could go ahead and allocate towards a better seat...or more games instead of merely knowing I have the right to pay more for a ticket. that's just my 2 cents.

$400 for a RTB is likely going to either get you 1 full ticket to a game in Houston/Dallas....or at least cover 75% of it is my guess.

if you got this draw....I think myself and some other Ags on here that are getting rejection emails wouldn't mind paying you a little extra if you bought the tickets for us and we pay you back.

My window is long gone now and I bought nothing this time.

I thought about offering to buy for people but I got nothing but crickets when I tried to bail on my old RTBs when I got into my first draw window. Everyone seemed content to wait to get group stage on the secondary market… which is likely the smartest move, especially if you're on a budget.

But if you really wanna go, you can still do RTBs while they last for the next few days. Good luck figuring out the crypto, and hopefully they've figured out their technical issues on the conversion process.

M35 for Houston for example would cost you $98 right now in their marketplace… then you'd have to pay full retail price of $820 to convert that RTB into a pair of "tickets" (really "right to tickets" since no one is actually getting assigned seats yet).

In my opinion, though, the best move is either to wait for the secondary market (for group stage) or splurge on RTBs for a knockout round.

The next ticket draw is after the group stage gets drawn.

Plusses and minuses to that… on the plus side, if you just want to go to any local game, prices on crap matchups will become cheaper. On the flip side, once fans around the world know exactly which games their teams will be in, they're going to finally buy tickets. Purchasers for these early draws have been overwhelmingly domestic fans of the sport (and scalpers). So once Brits, Germans, etc know where they're playing, those games will likely move quickly and go up in price.

My RTT are for Portugal so not to bad.

The RTT collectibles for the Houston games are still cheaper on the secondary market than stub hub

Stub hub, seat geek, et al are going to ruin this world cup from an attending fan perspective.

Are we sure tickets are actually selling on stubhub for these prices, or is this wishful thinking?

I'm inclined to say the latter… because there's extremely low volume right now. And that makes sense. There's still a full ticket draw left (up to this point, we've only had the "early" and "presale" draws).

If you saw hundreds or thousands available, and their prices were clustered, you could maybe say that's how much they're going for.

I see 10 yahoos selling for Category 1, and a massive spread in prices for the exact same thing.

These guys are fishing right now.

Maybe it's different for other games but I suspect it's the same across the board right now.
