Our guys are more technical, more athletic, and have a higher soccer IQ.
I'd be shocked if we lose this match.
Complete dominance first half other than the score.
We just need to get better around the goal.
The substitutions made a huge difference as the United States beat France 3–0 to advance to the knockout rounds of the U-20 World Cup. The U.S. were deserved winners, clearly the higher-quality side throughout. France, on the other hand, looked one of the weakest youth teams I’ve…

Well, I lived long enough to say that the US was better technically and tactically than France.
But I will say that France's keeper is gonna be a stalwart on their senior team in a few years, dude is legit.

Supposedly, France didn't send their best players but a win is a win.
The most damning indictment of the Nico Estevez era at @FCDallas is that Nolan Norris entered his age 20 season with less than 350 career MLS minutes. Kid should have 3000 career minutes at this point. https://t.co/53VEVhoQ9V

Do they allow a VAR request from the manager? That is weird if true.

Yep. To save on having a VAR official, they allow 2 coaches challenges per half. You get it back if sucfessful.

It is probably faster than VAR using an official. I would almost rather the on field official always go to the monitor.

watching on mute. Italy have looked dangerous until they get in the box.
sweet freekick around the wall to make it 2-0.

The USMNT-Italy match was live in English on Peacock.
And has anyone explained why they had multiple Round of 16 matches scheduled at the same time. What kinda nonsense is that?

It has been faster.

Yes but there are more reviews per game cuz the coaches are just turning in the blue cards whenver there is a question.
I think VAR is more efficient in that they send down something that will be overturned more often than not. Fewer reviews per game
But VR with the coaches review is faster but stops the game more often. Ref goes to the monitor more times per game.

Well, yes, I think it does. With VS, the team requests the review. This generally happens with emotional responses rather than factual information and FIFA considerations like you would have with a VAR. So, when the referee goes to the monitor, the referee is evaluating a decision he/she has already made. Most of these VS reviews at the U20 WC would not have been sent down from the VAR booth because the referee in the booth is following (should be following?) the considerations and evaluating whether an error occured, factually, without emotion.
So, I'd argue that most of the time VAR sends the referee to the monitor, you're going to get a decision overturned because of an error while most of the time VS sends the referee to the monitor, you're going to get a referee to re-confirm the decision that was made on the field.
I don't have stats, but I'm sure FIFA will put some stats out after the tournament is over with regarding VS confirmations vs. reversals. It should be interesting.

I thought they went very fast. I may be wrong, but it seemd much faster than the prem.
