I mean...sure...but you also can't score if you don't get some shots off. Look at the first goal being a deflection off a defender.

I'd rather a shot on goal than a high risk pass trying to set up a perfect goal.

The deflection/own goal came off a pass, not a shot...

But I agree with the second half of your post. Ultimately the way our guys are playing, I'll trust what they're doing.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did it as a preventative measure bc Paraguay might try to hurt him. They were double teaming him and very aggressive with him toward the end of the first half. Dark arts are a tactic that might not have paid off tonight but down the line if they could make him less effective in later group games.

ETA: Watch what they're doing with other players, especially Ballogon.
