We can definitely go for some longer stuff as the fanbase gets more into the chanting/singing thing. Stuff like what clown is proposing should be our goal, it's just that that kind of thing is hard to pull off without slowly adding simpler stuff first. Maybe the oles and one other song would be enough to start off the season with.

Ok, the second doesn't fit in at all.

I just didn't like the Ole at first because "Texas Aggies" doesn't rhyme. However "Ag-Gays" does and I'm not ok with that...

Well Ri-cos or Ti-cos or whatever it was didn't rhyme either, but it worked.

Oh yeah, and no beeping at the keeper! Once again, it's not creative and this isn't Olsen...

Who cares if it's not Olsen and who cares what is creative or not. The beeping, makes more since at the goalie than an opposing teams COACH. You don't need to get into a coaches head it wont mess them up, you want to distract the player, and it is the simple things like that, that make you start thinking on every step and distracting yourself.

stealing things from Olsen is just dumb. it makes you look dumb for not being creative. So who cares? Well, there are two people who just told you, CDub and I.

Well we're also stealing the yell leaders and all the yells from Kyle. By that logic we should stop that too. Beeping is effective, the only criteria that really matters, so we should use it.

Yells started at kyle, so I guess we shouldn't steal yells from kyle and bring them anywhere else? how does using the same thing multiple places look dumb?

I may be way off base here, but does anyone else sometimes wish for the old days of no yell leaders at games? Call me what you will, but I remember being able to sit on the grass on the sideline during games and not be told what to cheer for by guys who've never watched a soccer match before in their lives.

Yes, I know that the atmosphere at soccer matches now is a hundred-fold better than it was five years ago, but that's just one little thing I miss.

yell leaders didn't affect the sitting on the grass the raised stands did, but anyway I like at soccer, but not the sports that start with a b.

let ethan be the yell boy. he was good and took requests. ryan bishop did that at one game. we were up by like 10 and the 2nd half was All Request Hour for yells. We did every single yell there was.

Ok, ok! Let's combine all sports and not have any unique atmosphere! I'm going to chant "Left, Right" when an opponent gets a red card! I'm going to chant "Wrecking Crew" when our defense is playing well! I'll Yell "Aggies Ball" when we steal it! I'll bark and howl like Mr. Jones at volleyball games! Yeah, it'll be neat! I'll rock it New Army!

Bring back Ethan! Come on boy, where are you?

And Lusk was the best Soccer Yell Leader. He was fun and accommodated our ASH Soccer Traditions. He was so dedicated, he even married a player!

Note to self: watch what you say on TexAgs. I was just trying to make a point. Beeping when the goalkeeper backs up was called uncreative and stealing from Olsen. I think it's effective a) because it gets in the goalie's head and b) more people that do not frequent the games have had positive things to say to me about the beeping than any other thing we do.

Just to add fuel to the fire, since it's been that kind of day:

There is a poster here whose daughter plays keeper for another Big XII team. I think he vowed grievous bodily injury to anyone he catches making inappropriate comments toward his daughter.

Personally, I think harassing the goalkeeper is one of the most fun things you can do at a soccer game. Usually my only boundary when I sit behind goal is no racist comments. However, the atmosphere at the women's games at all levels has always been a little friendlier, in my experience. And remember that these ladies are not professionals; they're truly student athletes who don't necessarily deserve your worst abuse.

I trust Aggie fans to assess the prevailing atmosphere and the type of crowd seated around them before deciding what is appropriate for any particular situation.

Oh, and if you ever see Oswaldo Sanchez strolling down the street, I will pay you $500 if you kick him in the nuts.

There is some good heckling that goes on behind the goal, it's funny and creative.

The beeping's dumb, it's right up there with the idiots that yell "Get off your knees ref, you're blowing the game" at Every Single Sporting Event...

No, this means that people who are only exposed to the beeping once or twice (i.e. people who don't come often and more importantly visiting teams) find it very noticeable and therefore potentially annoying.

Let me take you back to before 08ers entered the scene. While we embraced Aggie Traditions (yells, War Hymn, etc), soccer was still unique. We had creative heckles, unique yells and dance parties...

Now the kids spend a season at Olsen or Reed and think they're clever. What are you doing watching and beeping at the keeper when the ball is at the other end of the field?

The new kids have watered down the soccer atmosphere and made it a mindless follow the leader.

"New Army" is a joke and it cracks me up that so many people embrace the term...

normally when that is happening the ball is coming towards the goal and not on the other side of the field and thats why the goalie is retreating.

Scarves might not be a bad idea. A similar thing was once tried. You may notice that the Fresh Legs wave towels. Well the Hullabaloo Holligans thought that it would be a great idea for fans to have similar towels. They only sold the towels a game or two before Aggie Athletics came down on them. I did get one of the few towels sold though. So becareful to not get in legal trouble.

Mind posting a few of your sketches?

I won't be able to do it till next week at least because I'm at work right now and leaving to go out of town right when I get off so I'll try next week to get some on.

I wasn't planning on getting into any legal trouble I was gonna give them to one of the players to give to coach and see what he could do with them.
