I saw little to none of Howard last year. Nothing I can really remember.

I could see their minutes being filled something like...

1: Wade 30mpg, Lebron 6mpg, Chalmers 12mpg
2: Lebron 32mpg, Wade 6mpg, Chalmers 6mpg, Player X 4mpg
3: Miller 36mpg, Player X 10mpg, Butler limited role
4: Bosh 36mpg, Ju.Howard 12mpg
5: Haslem 34mpg, Ilgauskas 12mpg, Pittman limited role

They need another decent vet post, and a decent vet guard.

Juwan Howard 12? Only when Bosh misses his 11 games. He averaged 7 in 07-08 & 11 in 08-09. He got PT with Portland when they were decimated with injuries then it got cut down the stretch & especially in the playoffs when he wasn't doing shat.

This board is going to be fun next year now that there are a couple of new Simplebays.

In 73 games he averaged 22.4mpg and 14mpg in the playoffs this year.

So, I guess you are right. He cannot play 12mpg.

There were only 10 games last year where he logged less than 12 minutes.

Wade has played 36-38 minutes a game for almost every season, so you can expect that to continue. The same goes for Bosh. LeBron's minutes have been cut the last few years to around 38/game, but he went over 40/game for the 3 or 4 years before that. I'm sure there will be nights where he logs 40+ and nights where he's arond 33-35 because they are smoking teams in the 4th quarter, so it will all even out.

They're going to sign some vets that can come in the game for 3 or 4 minutes here and there and still give them some production.

The appealing thing about their team is the interchangeable parts. They have a few guys that can play multiple positions effectively, and that will help them with their minutes and matchups.

Penny Hardaway says he wants to come out of retirement and compete for a Heat roster spot. I wish I was kidding.

Juwan Howard likely signee over the weekend along with Jamal Magloire. Joel Anthony got a nice 5 yr-$18 million deal.

Butler and Varnardo are likely to be sent overseas.

So after this weekend we will probably see a line-up of

Chalmers
Wade
James / Miller
Bosh / Haslem / J. Howard
J. Anthony / Ilgauskus / Magloire / Pittman

Heat are also looking at Carlos Arroyo, Jason Williams, Matt Barnes among others to fill depth at the 1-2 positions.

Looks like its going to be:

Wade / Chalmers /Arroyo
James / Wade / Miller
Miller / Butler? / James
Bosh / Howard / Haslem
Halsem / Ilgauskus / J. Anthony / Pittman?

So the main contributors in order are James, Wade, Bosh, Haslem/Miller, Ilgauskus, Howard, Chalmers.

Cant beat the top 5. Bench will depend on how far they can advance their game alongside the stars.

I think Chalmers will start but Miller will get the majority of the minutes with Wade Lebron Bosh and Haslem.

Stackhouse now trying to get on the gravy train. That would be a decent pickup. I still say Chalmers won't (shouldn't) start. What's the point of him bringing the ball across half court and immediately giving it up to Wade/LBJ? I'd go with:

Ilgauskas
Bosh
James
Miller
Wade

w/Haslem/Chalmers/Stack/Arroyo as my regular 9 man w/Jones/Juwan and Anthony/Magloire/Pittman filling in as needed.

But wait, the big 3 are gonna have to play 40+ mins per game and score 90 between them...

Wade has said the PG position is Mario's to lose and that he doesn't want to play PG.

And starting and ending are different things. Mario will probably start, but as I've said, he won't recieve the majority of the minutes nor close out games unless it's in our, I believe, defensive interests to do so (i.e Rajon Rondo).

Howdy. Heat end up 9th in rebounds and 3rd in rebound diff - and did that without Haslem.

They played great defense all year without Haslem. I stand corrected.

Miami was the 3rd best rebounding team in the league, even with all of their injuries, as measured by rebounding differential.
