When do we start expecting the Spurs to win 65+ this year?

He was talking about the offical. Ha, good. I just caught the end of the game when they switched it over on NBATV and had no idea an offical had been hurt.

How do you figure? The Spurs have had plenty of injuries this year, just not to the "big 3". In the case of the 3, they've had plenty of injuries since '07, so I'm not sure they are yet "due".

Well there you have it, TP was injured last night. Hopefully he won't miss too many games.

Hard to call a thigh bruise an injury.

Crap. That blows. Guess we get to see how tough this team is.

Its Tony. My bet is he'll be closer to the 2 than the 4. One of the toughest players in the league even though he's a frenchie.

Hill is going to have to step up. Which I have no doubt that he will.

gotta finish 12-5 or better to get to the magic number. very doable. we'll have a much better idea after this tough road stretch coming up. 2-1 should be enough to get to 65. 1-2 and it starts to get a little fuzzy.

so, statistically....64 wins this year. if you round in the Spurs favor.

they're at 57 wins now, have have 9 to play. probably losses Boston, LA, Atlanta.

that puts them at 63 wins best case methinks. they're not getting to 65 wins.

and, with 3 straight losses, they only have 4 games up on the Lakers, with 1 to play against them. so 3 games up with 8 to play, and they wouldn't own the tiebreaker? Lakers have won 7 in a row. they might not even finish 1st in the Western Conference.

go spurs go!

oh and they're not healthy. so sharkie, clay, 2001_2005, ulrich, soupy, obi, and everyone else is getting massively pwned right now.

and after a first-round exit to the grizz...well, see you next year!

With the Spurs up 4 games with 9 to play, there is no way in hell the Lakers catch them. None.

Most people on this thread predicted the Spurs would finish just shy of 65 wins for the year, but you are the only one who broke his hand while patting his own back.

it's unlikely, the spurs would have to keep massively collapsing. but no way? you're dreaming.

it's essentially up 3 games on the Lakers with 8 to play (assuming the Lakers stomp them again, but this time in LA). and the spurs would lose the tiebreaker.

I like how you assume an automatic win in LA when the Spurs won the last game there. They are 4 games up, stop calling it 3. The Spurs are 33-3 at home, good luck taking a series from us if home court holds.

"Keep massively collapsing?" You're a dumbass.

The Spurs have lost 3 games in a row on the road, two of them by less than 3 points, and they did it while missing Duncan.

The Lakers have lost 3 or more games in a row on at least three different occasions this year.

Last time the Lakers played SA @SA in the playoffs...how did that work out for you? Good luck? Remember the brent barry "foul" after his travel? and they lost. Was that at the AT&T Center, i can't remember....

as to your last win in LA, the spurs won on a last second lucky shot, and it was almost 2 months ago. before the all-star break = doesn't matter for the 2 time back to back nba champions. what matters is how they're playing during the final 10-ish games of the season.

and who has one of the best road records in the NBA?

luck ain't got nothin to do with it. the Lakers will beat the Spurs in 5. but the Spurs won't be in the WCF to find out anyway.

and, at this point in the season, 3 straight losses + not being healthy = massively collapsing. not when you were supposed to simply choose whether or not you wanted 70 wins (per earlier in this thread)

My suggestion to the LA fan: Worry less about catching SA and more about staying ahead of Dallas. They are only 1 behind you, so watch your rearview.

My suggestion for the spurs fan (who started this thread): Worry less about getting 65+ wins and worry more about getting to the Finals where you haven't been in a staggeringly long time. Scratch that.....worry more about getting out of the first round. And judging from the other thread, it looks like people are, justifiably, starting to.

The title goes through LA. The Lakers aren't worried about #1, #2, #3, #4 seed. They can, and will, win anywhere it takes and get back to the finals.

I personally wanna see OKC because I think they have the best chance to knock out LA and are a hell of an exciting team.

Here is one thing I am not worried about, If the Lakers manage to last long enough in the playoffs to play the Spurs, I'm not worried about having to play on the road 4 games.

The Lakers really ought to worry about home court advantage, because it matters. While they are at it, they might also worry about going 13-10 during one stretch this season. They might worry about how even the man who built the the current roster, Jerry West, sees that they are getting too old. They might worry about whether Phil's hemorrhoids are going to flare up during a crucial timeout. They might worry that Kobe will start to think that he is still the Kobe that doesn't need any teammates. They might worry that Artest will shoot the ball. They might worry that Bynum's 11 points and 8 rebounds a game might not justify his $14 million dollar salary. (Blair is averaging 9 and 7 on less than a million a year).

Since the 1st NBA All-Star Game ('51), '10-11 Lakers are just the 5th team to win 15 or more of its 1st 16 games coming out of All-Star break

Of those 4 teams went to Finals and 3 won* ('90 *Pistons, '91 *Bulls, '98 Jazz, '00 *Lakers)

Step away from your dumbassery for just a moment. How are we getting owned? It was stated repeatedly on this thread and others that getting to 65 wins was dependent upon the team staying healthy (especially the big 3).

Now 2 of them go down and our point is proven correct? I don't see what you're grasping for here.

I predicted 62.5 wins on this thread. Totally pwned what a loser I am. The only way I was way off base is if the Spurs only win 1 more game this season, and it took all three starters going down for at least a game since that prediction for my 62.5 O/U to be too low.

I wonder if it actually hurts to be as dumb as Simplebay.
