As someone else mentioned, the length of this series is gonna come down to the spurs' outside shooting. If Bonner, Neal, and Hill shoot well, this probably won't go past 5 games. Otherwise, it could get messy.

of course he does. the guy is good. that's why the spurs didn't care to see him in the first round.
Zach Randolph changed the offensive culture of that team when he was traded there last year.
Tony Allen changed the defensive culture when he arrived. That is one crazy dude.
The Grizz might win the paint, but they give up a lot of 3-pointers, and they don't make a lot. Ironically, they do get a lot of steals (3 guys in top 23 in steals per 48).
Without Rudy, I don't see them winning this series, but a realistic goal is a 7 game series like the Thunder took the Lakers to last year.
I think the greatest concern for Spurs fans is that it will be a physical series, and if it goes 7 games, it could take a toll.

3 days isn't enough rest for a day-to-day injury? I expect Manu to be back for game 1, but given the first three games are played over a 6-day span, if he isn't back for game 3 it probably means he isn't coming back.

The key factor for me on Manu's injury was it is his right arm. Manu notoriously is left handed and hates to do anything with his right. If he can just dribble and shoot without pain on the right hand I think he will be fine, the left is where all the magic happens with Manu.
I was hoping the Spurs got NO for round 1 but oh well. Better come to play!

The Spurs are clearly over the hill and their record is not indicative of the team. Grizzlies sweep SA in 5.
I won't be surprised if Memphis wins the series.

I think one huge factor that Slam left out was Antonio McDyess who will be spending a lot of time with Randolph, probably more than Blair.
Likewise, Leon Powe and Darrell Arthur could be meaningful contributors from the Grizz bench.

I predict a close game up till about midway through the third, and then the spurs pull away for an 8-10 point win.

I don't see the Spurs losing this one. But they have dropped some round 1 game 1's in the recent past and have come out fine. So if they lose this one, I won't be too concerned.
chuck still counting out the spurs, even in round 1.
How can the Spurs be overrated if no one is picking them to win anything anyways?

Ball movement really sucks without Manu. It would also be nice to see Tony contribute.
tim is looking good early. we need tony to get involved more. but i think we'll be fine if tim keeps the intensity
that three hurts.
