Boston is galvanizing behind Rondo once again.

Boston has yet to lose a series with its current core group when 100% healthy...that said, they are NEVER all healthy. But Miami has to prove to me it has what it takes to beat them; I can't pick them until then.

I think the Perkins trade was a bad one for the Celtics and will be the difference in the series (yes, even though Jermaine O'Neal played well in round 1). Combined with the homecourt in South Beach...

I hate the heat and I hate the celtics. The celtics are shooting crappy which is the main cause for them losing this game. However, being an unbiased third party, I have to say that the refs are definitely leaning towards the heat on this game. It's trash that officiating can decide series like this.

I'll help you with the O'Neal flagrant...while a cheap elbow it wasn't a flagrant. But I'll counter with Rondo wrapping up on LBJ in the 1st. He never got in front of him and just wrapped his body up on a fast break. Should have been clear path.

Pierce should have been tossed after his first tech when he made contact with jones' face. When the 2nd one happens, it's an auto eject.

Officiating is so over the top in the game now. Watching those old Celts/Lakers series or the Bad Boy Pistons teams shows you howmuch the game has changed (for the worse).

I'll agree with that, but we have no idea what was said between the two. It was a double tech between them, and whatever he said he made comment within inches of a ref, right after he got star treatment by not being tossed with the jones incident.

I'll also add another BS call on the refs...no way Jones deserved a tech for literally standing and not saying a word while pierce got in his face.

no, but he brought his head right into Jones' face with the intent of making contact. I don't think "face rub" is in the books, so it's a facerub/headbutt.

I never said this game determined the series. I said it's overall poor officiating that can determine a series. As far as the refs in this game go, it wasn't so much the calls but the no calls. I saw multiple times when a Celtic would drive into the paint with a bunch of heat around, get slapped around, and the refs just swallowed their whistles. When that same thing happened in reverse, it was almost an automatic whistle. Also, I saw one where lebron was in the paint, the ball was on the ground when he got hit, but the ref held off blowing the whistle until lebron went up and no more contact was being made...just so lebron could shoot free throws. Just pathetic.

Dan Crawford was crew chief today. Shouldn't be surprising that fouls were only called on one end for aggressive offense.

If you think the officiating is bad now. Just wait till D-Wade makes it to the finals. At that point, all the other team will have to do is breath on him, he'll fall to the ground like he was shot and he'll get 2 free throws.

Much like Game 5 of the Orlando series with Kendrick Perkins (also tossed after two questionable tech’s), the sequence shows just a lack of awareness by the officials, specifically Malloy in dealing with Pierce. In this situation, you have to be aware that Pierce has a tech. HAVE TO. Anything short of a full-on physical confrontation has to be dealt with carefully by the referees for a star player, on either team for that matter. Exchanging a few four-letter words? Please.

It would be one thing if the refs were trying to establish control early in the game, and prevent things from getting out of hand. I still wouldn’t like a double T then on both Wade and Pierce but I’d at least understand it. This wasn’t that however.

Instead, this was the fourth quarter of the most anticipated playoff series of the year, and thanks to a quick trigger by Malloy, the officials will be a big part of the story for the next 2 days. And to be honest, no one wants that.
