Deep down, who will you be rooting for:

Mavs or Heat?

As a Spurs fan, I wish I could make myself root for the Mavs and against the Heat, but I just can't. I'd be lying if I said otherwise. Same as tu-USC.

I'm a Mavs fan. This is for everyone else in America.

The Dallas Mavericks..."America's Team"

Rockets & Spurs fan here (yes, I know that sounds ridiculous...)

I'll be rooting for the Mavs. Dirk deserves a title...especially after getting screwed literally and figuratively by that ugly ho

Rockets fan, I'll be rooting for the mavs.

My list of most hated teams is easy-
1. Heat
2. Mavs
3. Lakers
4. Jazz

2011 = worst finals ever.

Neither, just want it to be a good series.

I am also rooting for Sir Charles!

I'm a long time Mavs fan, but in the 90s I pulled for the Rockets and Spurs (and Jazz, Sonics when they faced MJ), since the Mavs had no shot at the playoffs. D Robinson is still one of my all-time favorite athletes.

I want the Wade/LBJ duo to fail above all else. They are the two of my top three least favorite players.

...in case you want to know, the third is Antoine Walker.

Heat, and it's not even close. I actually don't want bad things to happen to them.

Don't you guys like saying "trophy case" in response to Mavs trash talking though? If the Mavs win we'll both still have more, but it won't be quite the same.

Exactly

Rocket fans could never say, "trophy case" to begin with anyways. Those were the two years Michael Jordan took off.

And that those two trophies are 15+ years ago.

Mavs, the hatred died for me last year after the first round series. It felt like closure of the rivalry.

You do realize 23 played in the 1995 playoffs? Or are you retarded?

They lost in the 2nd round to the team the Rockets swept.
TheMasterplan

Yeah, I know. He played like the last 20 games of the season. Didn't even play a full season. Don't even act like Jordan was playing his best.
Mike Tomlin

Wait, so I'm supposed to believe that Jordan would have won 8 straight championships, but somehow coming back to the NBA in mid January isn't enough for a guy who would have won 8 in a row?

I know it kills Mavs fans, but the Houston Rockets have two legitimate championships. We can play the what if game till kingdom come, but that doesn't change what happened on the floor. The Rockets had the same advantage everybody had in 1994, but they were the only team to win it. Further, I could even argue the Knicks could have beat the Bulls with MJ. In 93 ECF, the Knicks were a Charles Smith epic fail away from being up 3-2; there day was coming eventually.

He came in March and Nick Anderson even went on record saying, "he doesn't look like the Old Jordan."

End of discussion. Rocket's titles deserve asterisks.

I don't buy that argument, even as a Spurs fan.

Same as Phil Jackson's * comment about our 1999 championship.

"Jordan didn't play" arguments are asinine. The Rockets were the best team in the NBA those year.

The Spurs 1999 championship doesn't count because it was a half season

The 2000 Lakers championship doesn't count because the refs gave them game 7 against Portland in the WCF

The 2002 Lakers championship doesnt count cuz of the game 6 WCF debacle

The 2003 Spurs championship doesnt count because Robert Horry missed that shot in game 5 and he never missed a game winner

The 2004 Pistons championship doesnt count because of 0.4. The Spurs would have beat the Pistons.

The 2006 Mavs championship doesnt count because they didn't win it.

The 2008 Celtics championship doesnt count because Manu got hurt...the Spurs coulda beat the Lakers and Celtics.

The 2009 Lakers championship doesnt count because Yao got injured in the 2nd round. Rockets would have won a game 7 in Los Angeles.

The 2010 Lakers championship doesnt count because of Perkins injury.

And MJ didn't play any of those years either...

I guess the Rockets 12-6 record vs the Bulls from 1984-85 (Jordan's 1st year) to 1992-93 (the last season Jordan played before his 1st retirement) means nothing?

Let's not even mention that the Rockets swept the Bulls (2-0) in 1984-85, 86-87, 90-91, and the 92-93 seasons and were only swept by the Bulls during the 87-88 season.

The Olajuwon led Rockets had the Jordan led Bull's number.

Maybe the Bulls championships should have an astericks because Jordan never had to beat Hakeem.

I'm rooting for the Mavs because the only reason not to is this message board. I can easily just stop coming over here. If the Heat win I might puke over all the extra attention they'll get. I'm already sick of em.

The Jordan hiatus championships are a bait that no Rocket fan can pass up.
