Still think the Spurs could have had more for Hill, either now or at the end of the season. They settled for a meh deal and did not address their biggest need: PF/C.

So they have officially given up on another championship.

I shouldn't question RC and the front office, but I just can't figure this out. We now have a huge hole at the backup pg. Hopefully Mack is still available. But then again, I don't see the spurs giving out two guaranteed contracts.

They needed a SF, but I'm not sure trading away a proven player like Hill for a double-digit draft pick in a weak draft is a good idea.

Pop and RC must not think much of George's ceiling. He's always been a tweener. While a good scorer at times, he never really had a defined role. He was never comfortable playing point. They really must see something in this Leonard kid.

this was a really solid trade for the spurs.

2 prospects, a draft pick, and they keep their first for a guy they were going to have to overpay to keep in a year.

The Pacers also gave up the rights to big man Erazem Lorbek, who has been playing in Europe, to the Spurs.

The Pacers used part of the $3.5 million trade exception they acquired in the Troy Murphy deal with New Jersey last summer to acquire Hill.

I'm glad Hill is gone from the Spurs. Great defender, solid role player. But they are great at developing young players so Leonard should be a solid contributor starting in 2014.

I don't get why so many of you are against this move. Assuming Tony Parker stays with us, Hill was a career back up here who was going to demand a big contract next year. Leonard is a probably starter for us in a couple years. Seems like a decent move. Plus we get another 2nd round pick and european big man in Lorbek? sp? Don't think this is as bad as some of you think.

We'll see about that. If that were the case, the spurs would not have made this deal. Obviously they feel different, so I'll go with their opinions over some random internet poster.

We traded a guy that went to IUPUI by the way. How is that any better?
