Had to catch the Spurs game on FSN Houston tonight. Holy shit, the Rockets announcers are terrible. I think the Spurs commited 300+ fouls tonight, Scola was murdered on every shot he took, and each Spurs player traveled on every posession!

Had to mute it during the 4th and OT.

I remember those blow hards from the Mavs-Rockets 2005 playoff series. Luckily for them they didnt have to announce the largest Game 7 loss in the history of the NBA playoffs (76-116). Snicker.

Can't be more biased than SA guys. But that's what they're paid to do. I love Sean Elliot calling a game.

SA guys are the worst. They actually refer to the Spurs as "our guys"

Ok idiots. A hometown crew should call a team their guys, root for them to win during a game they are calling, etc.
Its not like a TNT crew rooting for a team during a game...
But they talk like their team never fouls, travels or makes bad calls. Its just terrible to listen to.

I've been listening to Bill Worrell call astro and rockets games longer than you have probably been alive. I wouldn't trade worrell for anybody, I only wish he still did the astro's games.

Gotta agree with CLB to a certain extent. The hometown guys being homers is part of what makes them great. The Mavs crew is a guy who grew up in the area (Mark Followill) and a former Mav (Derek Harper). It'd be weirder if they weren't a LITTLE biased.

With that said, Houston's announcers are terrible. In the few games I've heard them call, I wasn't sure they knew the players' last names because it was "John" and "Bill", not last names.

If you ever get to watch games on the League Pass package you'll get to see all the hometown announcers. They basically give you the local broadcast. I used to have League Pass and got to see many games. Pretty much all the local guys are homers to some extent.

But without a doubt, the Houston guys are the worst I've seen. Being a homer is okay and really is expected. But most of the local guys really do a good job talking about the visiting team. Plus there is a fine line between rooting for your team and rooting against the opposing team. When you start doing the latter you have no business being on TV IMO.

Who cares? The Rockets suck, at least let them have announcers that convince them they don't.

To be fair, Portland needs all the help they can get. I think they need to hire the Suns training staff or something. Either that, or draft players who don't have one leg 3 feet shorter than the other.

Maybe thats just it then, he should stick to baseball games.
Both of them reminded me of the guy who goes to maybe 2 football games
In his life and one of them happens to be one you are at and he hits right behind you yelling for pass interference or some sort of other flag on every play.
Sounds very childish and unprofessional. I will give Bullard credit, on ONE play he corrected himself after seeing the replay. Both him and Worrell were crying no foul and then after seeing it again Bullard gives the ref credit.

Scola is known across the league as one of the games biggest floppers. Maybe Worrell and Bullard should get with everyone else. If nothing else, dont call a foul on every play.

One of them referred to 3 seperate shots being "ice-cold" in about a 5 minute span. Saying "ohhhh and an ice-cold 3-pointer" is OK if you say it once.

Bullard is only slightly more horrible than Sean Elliot. This coming from a native Houstonian who now lives in San Antonio.

There's a youtube video out there of game 5 from that series, and it's the Rockets feed. It's mind-boggling how biased those announcers were. Granted, all hometown announcers are biased, but holy phauck, those guys took the cake.

Nope. I love the Rockets announcers. I just find it funny that so many people agree they are bad.. then you look at who it is calling them out.

Im pretty sure that I would equally despise the Mavs and Spurs announcers if I was forced to watch them. They are homers for a reason.. and in a town where the national media seems to ignore your sports teams.. its nice to have someone on our side. I think Mavs and Spurs fans can agree with that. Those guys just have fun with it.. and thats what I love.

When it was Followell and Bob Ortegel for the Mavs the homerism wasnt too bad... it's gotta worse with Harper and Skin. I miss Bob. Skin sucks and needs to stick to weekend shows on The Ticket.

If you think Worrell & Bullard are biased, you should have heard Gene Peterson. Man, I miss him and Jim Foley.

Nbatv right now....i am watching rhe clippers announcers. They are decent. I do not despise them.

For example....have you ever heard Worrell say a certain rocket player got away with one there? Or got lucky with that call? Or, heaven forbid, disagree with a refs call that went in favor or the rockets?

Yes, there are worse announcers. The guys that do the Rangers immediately come to mind. I'm not a terribly big fan of the Rockets guys though.

Also...i dont think bullard is that bad. He's on par with Elliot. At least he doesnt show blind favoritism on every single play.
