Do you guys seriously not believe that was not a retaliation hit?

Of course it was a retaliation hit. That doesn't mean Lebron "sent" anyone to do anything.

obviously it was retaliation, but not just the choke incident. Stevenson has been apparently talking **** from the bench all series, and has "crossed" the line of verbal smack talking according to people(not just from the Heat side) covering the series. He was making it his duty to get under their skin from the bench. Then Granger admitted he was flirting with crossing the line of how much is too much himself.

I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that Pittman went after him due to the choke and the **** talking he's been doing this series, but I don't think there's any way in hell Lebron put a bounty on him or even said "something needs to be done" or any of that. I completely believe LBJ when he responded the question the other day that he doesn't even give 2 ****s about what some bench scrub has to say, not even worth a comment.

I also understand that you were half-joking when you said put a hit on him.

Yep. It is just silly to act like Lebron "sent a hitman."

What WFF said.

Obviously retaliation, but blaming Lebron for something that ridiculous is just stupidity. I couldn't see him pulling a Gregg Williams and telling Pittman to go take somebody out.

Because he doesn't have to. Just like in baseball when Cole Hammels pegged Bryce Harper, Nats pitcher Jordan Zimmermann pegged Hammels. Did Bryce have to tell Zimmerman to do it? No. But he knew to do that next time Cole was up to bat.

Unwritten rule that when someone shows up your star, you foul him hard. That's why you have someone like Charles Oakley or Dennis Rodman or Bill Laimbeer or Danny Fortson on your team.

okay. I'm glad you agree it was silly to say that "BronBron sent his hitman."

You left out the qualifying statement that the star must be respected by his teammates or they won't necessarily automatically protect him. Obvious examples: Rick Barry 1976 or Arod 2003. I dont know if that's a factor with Lebron

True. But maybe Pittman also realizes that he will be a free agent in a month and the best way to stay on the Heatles gravy train is to suck up to the man that controls the team. That may be his only way to stay in the League, considering he only has 200 more minutes this year than Eddy Curry.

Amazing, amazing story. Here was a fat kid who was given a full ride to go to college and play basketball. Not only did he do that, but he also changed his diet, allowing him to lose weight. Jesus, I'm so ****ing inspired right now. Why didn't they talk about that more when he was at texas?

Yes. Because Lebron has a long history of trying to control the teams he has been on. Remember when he got Doug Collins fired?

If LeBron tells Pat Riley that he really wants Pittman to be extended a contract of some sort, he will be extended a contract.

Just like when Rodman had Jack Haley follow him around for a decade.

If Bron wants it, it is going to happen. The Spurs kept around a few of Duncan's buddies for years and only traded/cut them after getting the OK from Duncan. Not exactly a new thing here for the NBA.

The Heat are such puzzies. Now they (Wade and the championship-less Chosen One) are complaining that Indiana plays them too rough.

What a bunch of dooo sh nozzles.

I have not gotten that impression from the interviews. I get the "This is playoff basketball, if they come at us, they'd better come hard." vibe from them.

pacers have been getting away with a lot of grabbing of Lebron off the ball especially this series and tonight. Seems after the early run, the refs might have found some sort of comfort. Hopefully this game is a good one.

Wade is on fire early. He really has been a different player since the hard foul by Hibbert in game 4.
Bunk Moreland
How long do you want to ignore this user?
wow. Real hard foul by Mike Miller on Granger there. Good thing the refs are on top of it.

"he's a flopper"

but like JVG said he didn't flop that time.

Also, good for George Hill; 10 points already. An example of a trade that worked well for both sides.
