Media votes for one while coaches vote for the other.

The media votes for dpoy, coaches vote for all-defense teams. Another shining example of the NY bias.

One could argue that the snub was Ibaka (blocks leader) our cp3 (steals leader) or LBJ, the best /most versatile defender there is. If Chandler isn't playing in the huge media market that is ny, he's not getting that award.

Chandler tied for 17th in bpg, his team's defensive stats are 11th in ppg, but behind all those other teams except okc.

For the record I support Chandler this year because it can be seen as a victory for advanced stats - just looking at blocks and rebounds is flawed. Ibaka was exposed last year by the Mavs and will be exposed again by the Spurs next week.

But I think the media just got mad at Dwight and voted for the likable guy on the media hyped team.

New York was 5th in points per possession defense this season and was 21st last year. They were 2nd in the league for the period that Woodson was coaching. People who think the Knicks had a bad defense this year don't watch basketball.

Ben Wallace was a better defensive player than Tim Duncan. Sorry.
