I don't know about you guys, but on a scale of 1-10 I'm at a 4 right now, because OKC found out how to shut down Spurs, but I think Pop can work some magic, and finish it, and also might have been bad night, and can't hold back best 3 point shooting team in league for entire sereis

I said all day that I could easily see the
Spurs getting blown out by 30 points tonight.

They needed to get this out of their system.

Not worried.

Its just going to be real tough winning in OKC now, because it seems they have the momentum, but I think the pressure is off SA with the winning streak, and now press wont be as much all over them, so they can play more comfortable, but it is still worrisome, having to come back with series 2-2, when you were up 2-0.

If OKC wins Game 4, then maybe its time to panic. Maybe. Y'all are still in the drivers seat. Take care of business in Game 4 and y'all will probably take it in 5

I'm an OKC fan, but this game means very little. Spurs are still clearly the favorites.

I think the Spurs will take game 4. I think the Thunder came out with their backs against the wall playing balls out. They brought 100% intensity to that game until it was out of reach. Multiple players attacking the ball when it was in the air for blocks, not giving up on plays (Cap'n Jack block, for instance), disrupting passing lanes, and basically sprinting around causing havok. Thunder played a great game. I don't think they can keep that intensity up, and I think the Spurs play with some fire in game 4. In all, I think the spurs take game 4, 5, and move along.

I think OKC will hold their home court. Winner of game 5 will take the series.

I'm pretty worried, OKC might have taken game 2 without some timely 3s. They have pretty much owned the last 65 minutes.

OKC never got within 2 possessions in Game 2 and gave up 120. Aside from some poor shooting by the Spurs to start the 4th and a parade at the free throw line for the Thunder, they hardly owned anything.

The Spurs just ended the 3rd longest winning streak EVER in the history of the NBA. I wouldn't read to much into this game. If the series is tied at 2-2 and they somehow drop game 5 at home, then it is time to worry.

20 game win streak doesn't mean shiz now. The leagues best offense just went an entire game with virtually no open looks and surrendered 14 steals.

I'm worried.

True, but the Thunder made some changes and it worked so they have to get the credit.

However, the Spurs played uninspired basketball last night. Even the most least objective fan has to admit that played a sizable role in the outcome.

I was just thinking about Game 4 in the 2005 Finals. Detroit whipped them like a rented mule, by what, 30 or so? The point is, the Thunder aren't going to play the rest of the series with a huge energy gap like last night. SA will respond.

You do realize that if the Spurs lose Game 5 then the series is pretty much over having to win in OKC.

If I were a Spurs fan, I'd start sweating after Game 4 if OKC wins. That last thing you need is an OKC confident ball club going back to San Antonio.

One more thing to make you sweat, I had forgotten about the 2004 playoffs when the Spurs had won 17 consecutive games to go up 2 games on the Lakers. The Lakers won at home and then the Spurs killer emerged with a Hail Mary win with .04 secs left. The Lakers went on to win the series in 6.
Guess who's playing with OKC?

But I'm a fan of a good exciting game and Popovich is a master at tweaking his game plan from game to game. The longer the series goes though, the worse it is for the Spurs because of age. Experience means a lot but doesn't mean squat when you don't have anything left for Game 7.

Which is why I said if they find a way to lose Game 5 at home I will start to worry.

The Spurs are 18-1 when leading 2-0. You referenced the one time they lost. That team also had Shaq, Kobe, Karl Malone, Gary Payton, and arguably the greatest NBA coach of all time. This Thunder squad is really good, but they have now beaten the Spurs what, twice in 12 games?

Maybe as a fan, but I believe in this team. I mentioned the 2005 Finals because in Games 3 and 4 the Pistons destroyed the Spurs. But the Spurs responded and won Game 5, on the road to boot. They aren't going to panic because they lost one game.

Spurs came out flat in game 3, period. I've never seen so many sloppy passes from Parker and Duncan.

Also, I think Pop came out with a game plan that didn't work. It looked to me like he had anticipated the smaller lineup from OKC, and was determined to counter it by working through Duncan on the low block more frequently. That didn't work because (a)Perkins played Duncan pretty well and (b) Duncan was not decisive with the ball. He has always been better when he starts his move at the touch of the ball. All those pump fakes and jukes are worthless against Perkins and they use up time.

OKC did a good job of giving the Spurs a dose of their own medicine: every shot the Spurs took in game 3 was by a player who was not comfortable taking that shot. Lots of isolations, lots of one-on-one. I halfway expect to see Ginobili in the starting lineup in place of Green if the offense continues to struggle. The Spurs could probably get their ball movement back if they have two guys on the floor who can play an effective pick-and-roll game.

To answer the initial question, I'm more worried now than I was this time yesterday, but on a scale of 1 - 10 that really only amounts to about a 2.

I think the Spurs kind of felt, they could just waltz in, and not give 100% energy, and I think Pop might have to tell them otherwise, at least I hope, that it was just a matter of energy, and not that they just figured them out.

Somethings gotta give. We'll see which one.

I thought before the series that it would be 2-2 after 4, and I event bought maybe a split home and away. There is no panic if it's 2-2. That's how it should be between a 1 and 2 seed with good home courts
FWAggie16

Its not that its the 2-2 so much as it is momentum. They seemed to have stopped our offense, and they have momentum.

That was great defense from the Thunder. Hopefully Pop has something up his sleeve.

Momentum is something that is overplayed in a series. Each game is its own beast, different from the last. The intensity with which each team must play changes from game to game.

The better team usually prevails in a 7 game series. I think we all know which team is the better one this year.

Even Brooks now calls the Spurs "the best team in basketball." So besides a couple delusional haters which might include yourself, McQueen, and Simplygay, pretty much everyone understands who the best team in basketball is right now

Anyone notice how the Spurs changed up their offense and went inside to Duncan much more? I'll only be worried if they do that again instead of letting Tony play like an MVP.
