Worried about series?

As a former Houston Oiler fan that once watched the team blow a 35-3 2nd half lead, I'm worried with any lead, whether in a game or in a series (Aggie football hasn't really helped this either). So yeah, if I was a Spurs fan, I'd be worried.

But as a non-fan of both teams, I still feel pretty comfortable with the Spurs right now, and I'm real interested in seeing Pop's adjustments. That's the beauty of the series.

okc looked like a good, desperate team at home down 2-0. sevalosha (speling?) was critical in the win. pop will have an answer for it. game 4 should be interesting. probably goes to 2-2 but spurs will win this.

Yeah I noticed too, it seemed they weren't going to the pick'n'roll as much.

Anyone else think it might be that OKC is too good to be swept, and when you combine them coming out balling and SA having a meh game, you lose by 20 on the road.

We weren't going to the pick and roll because they were having success guarding it by merely switching. We tried other things like Iso's to try and get easier baskets, but to no avail. I'm very worried if we can't figure out how to take advantage of the switches.

the screens they set were poor to mediocre, probably half due to okc running through them harder and half due to a lethargic effort.....couple that with tony pulling the ball back after going around the pick, and everyone being gun shy when the spurs did get open looks off the pick and roll, and thats your recipe for mega failure against a great team

I'm not worried. I would not have been surprised if they lost one in LA to the Clippers. In the playoffs you can't expect to win every game. It is difficult to maintain the focus and intensity for so many games. If the Spurs weren't loaded with playoff experienced players then I might be worried but these guys have been here before. Duncan, Parker, Ginobli and Jackson have all been there and come out winners. More importantly so has Pop. I like Brooks as a coach but Pop is the best. I think the Spurs are fine.

I'm still not that worried.

If Pop has enough sack to admit he was wrong and play Dejuan ALL of SPlitter and Bonner's minutes, the Spurs should win by 10+ Monday night.

Yeah, the Spurs plan worked tonight, right up until OKC's big guys couldn't miss. And they still had a puncher's chance with a couple minutes to go. Spurs in 6.

Props to the thunder for playing well. We'll see what happens in game 5, but the spurs are still in the driver's seat.

I wasn't horribly worried before tonight, with my line of thought being it'd be unlikely the Spurs play 2 bad games.

Now, I'm a tad worried. Come out like this in game 5 and OKC will pull off a backdoor sweep.

I said before the series Spurs in 7.
After games 1&2, I said Spurs in 7.
Right now, I say Spurs in 7.

There was no way this was going to be an easy series.

Wasn't able to watch game, but I saw some highlights, and I'm not to worried, I think they just got lucky, with Serge Ibaka being unbelievable, I still like the Spurs chances however.

Also, did Pop play Blair very much tonight, or did he say he will play him more?

I noticed we finally let Blair play. We need some inside banging. Still not worried, but much less confident.

This was my first real viewing of the Thunder. I can't stand Harden's style of play where any drive to the basket is 1) try to get fouled, and 2) think about actually trying to score. I know he isn't the only one in the league who does this, but it is awful to watch.

Ironic, since his style of play almost exactly mirrors that of manu's. Has it been hard cheering for him through all those championships?

OKC was at home, Ibaka had the game of his life, and Durant played like a man possessed down the stretch. All this and the game still came down to the last couple minutes. If the spurs play the same way, at home, Ibaka isn't repeating that, and the spurs win by 10 at home.

And shut up simplebay, your team is done. You shouldn't be on this board, let alone this thread.

I'll say it: I'm very concerned right now. OKC is an incredible team and Durant is going to be up there with Jordan someday. All props to them. If they win this series, they will have earned it, despite how I feel about the refs right now.

In regards to Harden, I have no problem with his style of play. The rules are such that slashers hold all the cards. To take that way from Harden would be to discredit both Ginobili and Parker. Having said that, the dude needs to take it easy with his tough guy act with Perkins. When you're as good as Harden, you don't need to act like that. His game should do all the talking.

Worrying is for suckers. I would be worried...if I was a Thunder fan.

Ironic that the game he "played well" the Thunder lost...

If the Thunder continue to get 88% shooting on 25 shots from Ibaka, Perkins, and Collison, they could probably beat the '96 Bulls in 5...

I am still not worried nor concerned. I will worry if they lose tonight, but I still will not count them out. The core of this team has been in worse situations. They won't panic.

I don't want this one to go 7. Other than home court, I think OKC will have all the advantage in a game 7. They will have the energy, because they are younger. They also will probably play fairly pressure-free basketball, because hardly anyone was expecting them to win this series and hardly anyone could see them winning a game 7 on the road.

The Spurs need to take the lead in game 5 and close out in game 6. Game 7 is an "flip-a-coin" crap shoot.

Let me put it this regarding Harden, and add the comparison to Manu. It appears to me that Manu is still trying to score if he doesn't get fouled - Harden not so much. And, you can lump all players like that - including Manu - that play that style that makes my wince. I will add to it the intentional bump into the man in front of you and then start your shot that Kobe does all the time.

Yeah, harden's 49% FG and 58% eFG should definitely lead you to believe he isn't trying to score if he doesn't get fouled. Dude practically craps his pants when he doesn't get the whistle.

Right! My gosh that was insane!!! That's what was so impressive about the Spurs 10 game winning streak in the playoffs... the other team can get hot and even average players can dominate. It's time for the Spurs "average" players to step up again and dominate. Can't let game 5 slip away.

why?

he's got a shot prettier than dirk and he can slash to the bucket. he's already got three scoring titles and he's only 23 years old. you really think after a few rings (yes, he's going to have more than a few) that he won't have a case?

When Durant decides to try to become the elite defender he could be, then it's worth thinking about.

KD is my favorite player and I think the world of him....but no one will ever be "up there with" Jordan.

He def has room to improve, but its wrong to imply durant hasn't worked on becoming a much better defender. Still needs to get stronger, but I think that will come with age

Obi Wan - I get what you're saying, and I like Durant. That pretty much tells you all you need to know.

MJ was the most hyper-competitive, unlikeable SOB probably that ever lived. Durant is too nice and too laid back to have that "win at all costs" attitude. He's probably MORE TALENTED than Jordan, but I haven't seen the evil eye out of him yet. You know the one I'm talking about.

I think you are right, Durant PROBABLY will have multiple titles, if they can manage to keep Westbrook and Harden on board during free agency. Then again, we all thought Lebron would be the next Jordan.

I'm just sayin'.
