I wonder if they will still be making Lebron's shoes 10 years after he retires...

We're having a 'best ever' argument and no one has mentioned Detlef Schrempf? No wonder this place isn't taken seriously

Lebron has to prove it still, but he could do it.

If you had to bet your life savings on a 1v1 game to 21, between LBJ and MJ, who would you take? Lebron.

That being said MJ is the best ever, in terms of his accomplishments. Now if LBJ gets > 3 rings then I think he takes the spot as the best.

I would take MJ, so the rest if your post is pointless.

MJ was playing golf this afternoon at the Palmer course at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands.

Well yeah Lebron would win right now. Lebron now versus Jordan in his prime? Not even close. Jordan might win 21-10.

Battle is right. And even if he wasn't, you don't argue with a man that has an axe.

Detlef Schrempf would beat MJ and Lebron in 1 on 2.

I like Lebron, he's a stand up guy with great character. Hell, I'd let him babysit my kids. But he is no MJ.

If they played in the same period Lebron would be an average player still trying to get his first ring

So you mean to tell me that a 6'8 guy with a 44 inch vertical, 4.4 speed, and possibly the best passing ability in the league would be average? I'd say not likely.

And Lebron has had his moments of underperforming before... But the way he's played these last two years is simply ridiculous. He pretty much can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, however he wants. If people would just take a breather and objectively watch they'd realize that Lebron is something special. I bet if he was playing for BK we'd be WORSHIPPING him

39 pts, 12 rebounds and 7 assists tonight. His streak of 30+ points at 60% or more shooting ended finally. He shot 58%. His game is insane!

So there it is. A simple formula. If LBJ wins 7, he tops Jordan.

Tom Chambers> Shrempf

Tommy Gun had the greatest hops of any white guy i remember seeing, save Blake Griffin. Plus the man had a mullet. Really? How can you not say Tom chambers was better.

I guess you think Karl Malone and John Stockton were just average players as well
Ragnar Danneskjold
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Stockton was great. Malone was a flopper and the 7th or 8th best big man playing at the time.

I'm not going to bother putting a stat by stat comparison. But you have to take into account two major things that have changed in the league since MJ retired...the second time.

1. Hand Checking
2. Zone Defense

These two things changed the NBA in major ways, that unless you saw the way teams played back then, you wouldn't understand. It gave priroties to the offense, and now to the point where true Centers aren;t utilized. That is mentioning when Jordan had to play against the likes of McHale, Hakeem, Shaq, Mutumbo, Mourning, Ewing, a notoriously dirty and hard hitting Bill Lambier, all during the hey days of the 80s and 90s.

The game evolved, but you're looking at perennial All-Star in their prime, and Hall of Fame Centers during that era. And outside of maybe Hakeem and Robinson, Jordan ate their lunch.

the conversation for greatest of all time is between MJ and Kobe, and MJ wins by a landslide. I dont know how lebron got brought up.

Every new generation wants to show how their guy is better. Likely because that person is all they have ever known. Doesn't matter, pound for pound LJ doesn't come close to Kobe, who at his best still couldn't replace what MJ was to the sport.
