What are you interested in that someone would feasibility hire you for?

And if you think journalism is bad for job, talk to the people that work for professional and collegiate sports teams. Long hours, low pay. Way too many people want way too few jobs.

Well I'm interested in the success and internal operations of sports franchises, namely in the NBA.

Notice that I didn't ask if you like math, I asked if you are decent at it. We would all love a job that consisted entirely of thinking about sports.

There are a lot of jobs out there where you wouldn't be doing much if any math but that don't become available until you spend a few semesters in college proving that you can think that way. The reality of the job market today is that there are far more liberal arts graduates than there are good jobs for which liberal arts graduates qualify.

I can do math pretty well, but I can't stand it.

If you really want to get into the NBA world, you should be looking at sports management, business, econ, statistics/analytics, maybe nutrition.

And meaningful jobs in the NBA are going rely more and more on knowledge and use of math. Case in point, Grizzlies GM John Hollinger.

1. Get a degree in statistics.
2. Develop the greatest way to predict NBA success.
3. ...
4. Profit!
