Sure wish I had bet the over on Suns wins in Vegas last month, was only 17 and I was thinking even really bad teams win 20. They have 9 already.

Portland with an impressive win last night. Guess they are for real. Meanwhile, the #3 seed in the east is at .500.

This year's all-star game voting travesty: Kobe Bryant, with 57 total minutes played, has the third most all-star votes.

For those who watch TNT:

Its in the best interest of the basketball for the Nets to be good. If they can stay healthy, I think they can push their way to the 3 seed and get a competitive 2nd round series.

no it's not. The nets have been historically irrelevant

I don't know about the Nets but someone in the east needs to become a new power so the first 2 rounds of the ECP aren't unwatchable. It's going to be Pacers/Heat at the top and a bunch of cupcakes until the ECF.

Read part of it on another site but the best is the 30 year plan. Outstanding idea but it really hurts a crap team if they don't get a top ten pick for another 10 years or so.

Teams that aren't free agent destinations will have trouble getting guys just like today. The only thing it solves is purposely playing like crap.

Teams would get a top 6 pick every 5 years or so.

I can't see the teams committing to anything for 30 years.

Say you are a for sure number 1 pick after your freshman year, and the number 1 team is Charlotte or Milwaukee. The number 1 team next year is say....Lakers or Knicks or some other big market team. All the kid has to do is just stay in college another year or however long he wants to and basically gets a 3 year window of teams he gets to choose to play for.

Granted this wont happen very often, but there are flaws to having picks locked in

Some pretty big names have all been re injured this year.... Good thing it isn't a compressed schedule like a few years ago, or that would be a huge talking point on ESPN.

I am not sure if it was just injuries, but looking around the league there are not very many good teams. Is there a talent drought going on right now in the NBA? IT has been a long trend away from skills and towards just athleticism, bit people should get better generationaly but in the NBA it certainly seems to not be the case.

There are to many teams. The league is a bit watered down and more and more players these days try to rely just on athletisicm like you said.

I wonder if JR Smith is trying to be traded again. It is shocking to me, SHOCKING I say, that the Knicks foundation of Carmelo, JR Smith, Amar'e, and Chandler hasn't been more productive.

A couple of those great character guys had such great chemistry with teammates in Denver, and the other guys are Lou Gehrig/Brett Favre type of guys that never miss a night due to injury.

Looked at the Western Conference standings for the first time in about a week. Golden State is making their way up the ranks. 9 game winning streak has bumped us down to #6 and they've taken over #5. The west is freaking competitive this year

The Memphis Grizzlies acquired guard Courtney Lee and a 2016 second round draft pick from the Boston Celtics in a three-team trade also involving the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team announced today.
As part of the deal, Memphis traded guard Jerryd Bayless to Boston and traded a conditional 2017 second round draft pick to Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City also traded forward Ryan Gomes to Boston.

It would be bad enough if that was the exception for DWade and the officials, but the treatment that guy receives from the officials and the media continues to sicken me.

Might just be me but I think some of his "dunks" lose their wow factor when he can't make it to the rim so he just throws it.
