Looked like most of the Warriors were okay letting the Cavs have the game last night, but Durant said Nope. Fantastic performance by KD, very nearly as impressive as Lebron's performance was in Game 1.
Yeah, not quite as impressive as LeBron's historical Game 1 performance, but was an amazing performance that was getting into that neighborhood.tmaggie50 said:Pumpkinhead said:

Incredible performance by KD. Not on the Lebron game 1 level IMO. I was alittle disappointed in Lebrons performance tonight despite his numbers.
I think Lebron is so good and his teammates are so bad that when the cavs need to make adjustments, the only adjustment that can be made is with Lebron. Lebron can score 40/night if he wanted to. Game 1 he thought the team needed a spark and he tried to will the team to a win and ultimately everyone around him lost it. Game 2 you saw a similar style approach but he tried to get his teammates more involved. Game 3 it felt like the approach was on the home court shooters would shoot better and he needed to get his team in a rhythm, which he did. But I felt like the 4th quarter needed the drive to the rim every possession Lebron and not the distributor.

How? Chris Paul wants a max contract and if you bring him back it will be almost impossible.
Yeah I don't know how it would be feasible, but I want to see him win a few more before he retires and I want to see Houston beat the fricking warriors.Gigem Trevas said:Saint Pablo said:

There are a hundred possible narratives and 'what ifs'.Bunk Moreland said:
I think even within the confines of what we're watching, the Cavs aren't folding. They took the lead multiple times in the 4th quarter, and each time GSW immediately had an answer. That's just too tough, especially when KD is feeling comfortable from 30+.
The more fascinating thing to me is that it took a monstrous KD performance to "save" a team consisting of Curry/Thompson/Green against this Cavs team.
Though part of me thinks GSW are stupid spoiled and they know it, so they just run very simple plays with their complementary guys like slip screens and lobs, and then let their main 3/4 just have fun out there and know that'll get em by most everyone in the league.
There was some analyst on ESPN last night talking about how the open bunnies for the complementary guys reflects how the Cavs haven't spent as much time thinking and practicing how to defend the Warriors as the Rockets did.Bunk Moreland said:

Cavs have been killing the Warriors on the boards in 2/3 games.Bunk Moreland said:
Cavs D has been bad no doubt. But that's what makes the score lines in 2/3 the games so interesting. Tight down the stretch, but hard to ever feel like they could get over the hump.
Weird, I got them off the ESPN game summaries. But I could have screwed up, I guess.lil99chris said:
Where are you getting your stats? ESPN is showing different values.

Either way......Cavs should dominate the boards with LeBron James, Kevin Love, and Tristan Thompson.
I thought the game last night was the best officiated of the NBA Finals. Didn't see the cheap fouls called for the Warriors. Somewhat shocked about the Cavs not having a free throw in the 1st half. Cavs missed way too many shots in the lane in the 2nd quarter. Durant was unstoppable.
