Lurker on this board because I'm (was) a casual Rockets fan. Tell me why Worstbrook isn't the most overpaid player in the league, or...wrong thread?
I.mean, he averaged triple doubles with the Thunder, maybe its that Harden makes no one better?
Lets break this down in two parts:
"I.mean, he averaged triple doubles with the Thunder"This is because he was literally THE lone superstar on the team with a bunch of nobodys/role players. He could go out every night and Billy Donovan would let him do pretty much whatever the hell he wanted. If Harden wasn't on this team and it was just Russ it would be more of the same.
"maybe its that Harden makes no one better?"This is pretty laughable for anyone who has watched players flow in and out of the Rockets organization. Harden has made a lot of players look better, especially on the offensive end by taking a lot of the attention away.
My feeling on the current Rockets squad is that this small ball lineup is not going to cut it, and that might mean roster tweaks and a coaching change once the season ends. I still don't think getting rid of Harden is the answer, unless the return is just unreal. You don't trade players like him. I do however think we are in dire need of a culture change, and someone who will come in and not be afraid to not let Harden do whatever the hell he wants. We also need a big that can defend in the paint and has a decent shot. Someone with a playing style similar to Brook Lopez would be awesome.
