I don't understand some of these moves by these non-playoff teams in the Eastern Conference: Detroit, Atlanta, Charlotte are paying big money to fight to get to the play-in game, at best, without seeming like there is much of a plan.

The Ibaka/Harrell thing is fascinating. I actually think that both the Lakers and the Clippers improved over last year with that sequence of events. The Lakers needed some kind of consistent post scoring/P&R option down low when LBJ & AD aren't the floor while the Clippers needed a better defender down low (Zubac is serviceable but no all-star defender by any means).

Lakers still should have tried to hold onto Dwight for that price even if only to use him against Jokic but if they add Gasol it will give them the height/physicality combo they need to body Jokic should they meet in the playoffs again.

Ingram doesn't get to the line and loves to shoot 18 footers. Displays low energy and is always lost on D. Outside of his single (this past year) outlier 3 point percentage season, I can't find much difference in Ingram and Wiggins. His analytics stats were some of the worst ever for an all star.

Being super optimistic I could see his length making him decent on D and his shot selection improving along with maintaining or improving the 3 point percentage to the low 40s. Then he'd be a low end max guy.

In his current iteration he's somewhere between a good and bad starter. All that being said New Orleans had not choice and hopefully Zion takes he pressure the defensive attention away from him.

If you watched Ingram and Wiggins last season or even looked at their stat line and situation and concluded 'mmm... pretty much the same thing' then I'm not sure what to say.

Ingram just had somewhat of a breakout season at 22 and played very very good basketball last season. He's way better than somewhere between a bad and a good starter. Based on last season, if you gave me additional all star appearances in his career at 5.5, I'd go over. If you gave me 2.5 for Wiggins, I'd probably be under.

Hell, another way to look at this is if Gordon Hayward's market rate is 4 at 120 then Ingram is surely not that risky or crazy of a move.

Igram hit 39% from 3 on almost 400 attempts. In 2018, he also hit 39% of his threes.

24p/6r/4a with 1.3s per game is pretty solid. True shooting of 59%.
