I knew the Rockets were hurting to sell tickets this year but i didn't realize it was so bad they were giving them away. Got an email offer from them for 4 free ($8 after a service fee) lower bowl tickets for the game Wednesday against the Pistons.
It did mention that it was because I was a former season ticket holder so I am assuming they are going to show up and try and sell me a mini plan or something.

Its a dumb strategy. They claim they want to trade him, but nobody is going to trade for a player that doesn't play and has a salary greater than the GDP of a small island country.

It's November 11th and I think I've had enough of Stephen Silas.
I doubt they fire him in-season but if we keep looking as awful as we do that could come in to play. We are bad and expectations are low but we have to find a way to be somewhat competitive, right now we look like we should be a G League team.Head Ninja In Charge said:

I actually think Garuba needs to play more as well. He is the only one of the 19 year olds that actually knows how to defend.

I don't often like cross-sport comparisons but I am starting to feel like Silas is carving out a Culley role with the Rockets. Be here long enough to tank and keep us in rebuild mode, then move on once we are ready to compete again. Keep him for the rest of the season to lock in your lottery status then re-assess.

Silas = Culley seems to be an apt comparison re: keeping the seat warm while the dumpster fire rages.
A couple of weeks ago I was worried Christian Wood would want a trade....now I'm welcoming that moment.
He has not looked good at all this year.
His box scores reveal a guy who stills contributes greatly on the board (11.1 RPG), until you look at the advanced stats. Only 25% of his rebounds are contested. Good rebounders typically have at least 50% of their rebounds contested.
He also has an extremely high rebound chance percentage, which basically tracks if a player is close to a potential rebound.
All that time in the lane isn't producing any useful defense either. His defensive FG% at the rim is 64%...the same as Sengun.
The stats reveal he is basically standing under the basket waiting for uncontested rebounds. He is Russell Westbrook as a center...

We aren't even competitive.
2 months after the nuggets gave Michael Porter Jr a Max contract extension he has to have back surgery and will miss the season. With that, I think John Wall is no longer the worst contract in the NBA. I fully expect the Rockets to go after him. We've held the worst contract in the NBA for 5 straight seasons, we could make it 8!
You know its bad when I am considering buying a ticket for tomorrow night just to walk in and grab a shirt from the team store and walk back out
