Somehow the mavs lead 64-62 after Terence Davis and Trey Lyles carried Sacramento to a 60-47 lead.

The Mavericks had emerged as a frontrunner earlier Saturday, but the Suns made the case to Ross on the opportunity to join Kevin Durant and bolster the Suns’ depleted wing depth on what figures to be a deep playoff run.

I'm confused, aren't they getting Jackson?shack009 said:The Mavericks had emerged as a frontrunner earlier Saturday, but the Suns made the case to Ross on the opportunity to join Kevin Durant and bolster the Suns’ depleted wing depth on what figures to be a deep playoff run.

Ross signed too early… Frank and Theo got a good amount of minutes last night and were not good.
I think fans are just sick of other teams out recruiting the mavs. Seems like the mavericks only get players by either drafting or trading for them. It's getting old.PatAg said:you watch any games before last night? Terrance Ross is not some amazing player we missed out on, its just bench depth
Think they would be used to it by now.Grapesoda2525 said:I think fans are just sick of other teams out recruiting the mavs. Seems like the mavericks only get players by either drafting or trading for them. Free agent F/C LaMarcus Aldridge is working out for the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, sources tell ESPN. Aldridge, a seven-time All-Star, averaged 12.9 points in 47 games for Brooklyn a season ago.

Can he play defense? Absolutely awful display of it so far tonight.

was a great run, but I don't understand how we didn't have a play ready at the end. that was maybe the worst game ending sequence for the mavs I can recall in any basketball game
I can see that, but like....ya gotta at least hoist up a shot at some point. instead, we just played patty cake passing back between luka and kyrie and then a lazy pass into a crowded lane. loved the fight up until that point, but all for not unfortunately. good signs thoughshack009 said:zgolfz85 said:

I believe the explanation was that the inbounds play was for Luka to get a quick 2. But they had Pinson inbounding who threw a weak pass and Luka kinda allowed the defender to get to the ball and poke it in to the backcourt. So then it was a scramble to get a 3.

indeed...that 4th quarter kyrie is a guy we've needed for so long. someone who can take over from luka and keep the ball moving or generate points off iso when luka's shot isn't falling.....or when luka is looking lazy like he did for a lot of the game last nightshack009 said:zgolfz85 said:I can see that, but like....ya gotta at least hoist up a shot at some point. instead, we just played paddy cake passing back between luka and kyrie and then a lazy pass into a crowded lane. loved the fight up until that point, but all for not unfortunately. good signs thoughshack009 said:zgolfz85 said:

Yes, and both Luka and Kyrie said as much. But Ant and McDaniels are long players and did a good job defending us. We still have plenty of reason for optimism.
The tip on the inbounds I think disrupted play. Knocked 6 seconds off the clock before Luka had it in the front court.zgolfz85 said:

Not sure how much is on Kidd vs Luka. The play is always to get Luka in a good 1 on 1 matchup and Luka usually decides to take a step back or long 3.mavsfan4ever said:
Yea, we never get good shots late in the game off of a timeout/inbounds pass. Kidd has to be the worst coach int he league at that scenario. We either don't get a shot off at all or can only manage a step back 30 foot 3 pointer. It's cost us multiple games this year. So I definitely wouldn't want to call a timeout (although that's probably a smart move for most teams.
Luka Doncic felt he should have given the ball back to Kyrie Irving before his step-back 3 in OT:
