The Mavs choosing to only call the Lakers is by far the weirdest part of all of this. It is unbelievable that they wouldn't shop a top 5 player to the league to get the best package possible. Might be both the worst and most confusing move a front office has ever made.

All their explanations for only talking to the Lakers make no sense and don't stand up to even the least bit of scrutiny. I have a feeling we will eventually know what happened and it will seem horrible.

Choosing to only call the Lakers is one thing. Openly confirming that baffling decision during a press conference with their clearly distraught head coach sitting next to you was certainly...a choice.

I think this is actually quite a bit worse than the DHop trade. Yes we got fleeced and DHop is really good but Luka is a generational talent.

As much as I like to see bad things happen to all the Dallass sports franchises I can't help but feel kind of bad for them in this situation. What an absolute gut punch to have to take with no warning at all.
