Golden State has zero inside presence and we are still scared to take the ball inside. Guys aren't even trying. Golden State out running us and diving everywhere and we are just going through the motions.

I'm in Draymonds ear all night but it hasn't meant much yet

Sengun and Thompson both are giving Green way too much respect - they aren't going in there and challenging him.

They are playing tentative like 21/22 year olds tonight. I think his aggression gets to them.

Let's see if this works…

Props to Golden State. They flat out earned it and came out and won this thing on the road.

Ime left those guys in too long. They have been gassed for a while.

We lose on a bad TO and giving a wide open 3 to Draymond F'in Green

Can't have 20 turnovers, shoot 55% from FT, and less than 40% overall and expect to win a game. This team has hit a wall. The break is coming at a perfect time

What a waste of a comeback. Not saying we win if he decides to put the starters back in but it was clear the bench guys went cold.

While I agree they were tired and went cold, Udoka was making a statement of how hard he wants his guys playing every game. They came back by playing hard on defense and rebounding. They were taking it to the rim. The starters just weren't doing that and didn't look like they gave a **** tonight for whatever reason.

When it comes to character, Thompson is by far my favorite player.

All the coaches and staff love this kid and can't stop raving about what a good young man he is. I've seen him a few times off the court and he's always the most humble dude.

He's kind of a fringe All Star.

I'd prefer him playing 4 minutes to doing something that could cause him to miss more time in our actual games.

ok, can someone help me understand where the rockets are going to pick? this makes no sense

2025

OKC or PHX swap rights
OKC has the right to swap its 2025 1st round pick for HOU's 2025 1st round pick protected for selections 1-10 or the LAC' 2025 1st round pick; HOU then has the right to swap its pick or the OKC pick to BKN for PHX's 2025 1st round pick; if the HOU pick falls within its protected range, then HOU's commitment to OKC will be lifted and HOU will instead have the right to swap its pick to BKN for the PHX pick

realistically, where will we pick?
FrioAg 00

Realistically I think Phoenix will drop - currently 18th from the bottom - and could end up with a pick as high as 6-10. In that instance it's protected from OKC once we swap for it.

To get any higher we'd have to get very very lucky.

Phoenix currently has the 13th best overall record, and won 8 of their last 10. Why are you saying they will tank?
I am not saying they will tank, they obviously won't tank since they dont have their own pick, so not sure why you think I said PHX will tank.

I don't believe in them, plus they are in kind of disarray with the Beal mess, openly trying to trade for Butler, Nurkik refusing to even talk to their coach, etc. Look at who they beat in those last 8 games. Washington twice, Brooklyn, Detroit, Atlanta, Charlotte, Utah and the Clippers. One kinda good team in the Clippers. They are 24th in defense and only 10th in offense and despite the winning record so far, they have a negative net rating.
Hey Frio, glad you are coming around to what I said in January.

Yup

I'll tip my hat to you, but I'm not sure how you could have predicted both their stars wanting out only to not get traded and killing team chemistry

But I agree with your prediction now - they are going to fall quite a bit. You were correct.

They had chemistry problems before that I alluded to and the only real assets they had were the three stars. Beal has the NTC and they tried to flex on him by benching him. When they did that, they started cutting his minutes and usage. Since he refused to get traded, they really only had Durant or Book, and Durant is 8y older. They needed depth and were actively trying to make deals to make the team better. With the problems they were already having, imploding was only a matter of time.
FrioAg 00

Hopefully it continues. The problem they'll face now is it's hard to drop to the bottom, when the teams below you have also given up and their organizations want to lose for better draft picks.

Wemby out for the year with a deep vein thrombosis in his shoulder (dangerous blood clot). Can the Spurs competitively lose 30 straight games to improve their odds at Cooper Flagg?

Fox needs surgery, too. Wouldn't surprise me to see him shut down for surgery even though it can wait until summer me

Don't think the Spurs can catch the Hornets, Jazz, Pelicans or Wizards. 5th worst (Toronto) could be possible, but Spurs have 6 more wins than Toronto right now

Literally 100% of Spurs success has been ranking in the right way, at the right time. Thats all they've ever done well - but they've nailed it.

I wouldn't be shocked at all to see them not win another game this year

Drafting Tony Parker 29th and Manu Ginobili 56th and developing them to all-NBA players didn't hurt. Trading George Hill for the 15th pick and getting a guy that won two DPOYs and came in top 3 in MVP twice worked out well. they signed Bruce Bowen to a veteran minimum and developed him from nobody into an elite role player.

Also they didn't do thing like draft Reed Sheppard over Stephen Castle

Yeah, the career ending injury to starting PF Charles Smith, the blown ACL on Sean Elliott, the herniated disc on 6th Man Chuck Person, the back injury in the olympics and the broken foot in the season for Robinson were all probably faked.

I never understand why Spurs fans won't just admit they tanked.
My dad and I had season tickets in 83-84 when the Rockets tanked for Hakeem, and it won them 2 titles. Did it suck to watch them play guys along with Sampson who werent' that good? Yeah sure, but the titles were so much better for it.
Spurs put on a master class of tanking and got a generational talent and won - what 5 titles? 6? You should be proud of them for caring enough to lose on purpose to give the franchise an incredible dynasty.
