Sorry Kid... I hate it when a quality player leaves my team for greener pastures. Usually because the greener pastures are about 200 miles southwest of Boston.
sox have done a great job filling in their bullpen for 2011 by adding bobby jenks and now dan wheeler to the mix
the really great thing is they didn't have to commit to 3 years with either player (which is what a lot of relievers have been getting so far this offseason).
the sox should be pretty much finished signing peope now, i would think.
yeah, replacing paplebon, who was actually better than jenks, with jenks and dan "gopher ball" wheeler. The guy chokes under pressure worse than a porn star
My wife got me a Red Sox banner to hang in front of our house. I also got a wrapped tube, which I thought for sure was a new fishing pole. Turns out it is a Kevin Youkilis autographed bat! Awesome!
merry christmas to yall and here's to the red sox missing the playoffs again!
Oh and i am about to board a plane back to houston today, so it should be fun to see what i get. I did get myself a yankee present and got my 2 old yankee stadium seats that i bought last year finally mounted at my parents' house. It was about time i spent the extra money to give those seats the treatment they deserve. When i get my own house, there will be a yankees room and an aggie room. Can't wait to mount those bad boys in my own house one day
I think the important question is (and by which you will be judged from this day forth) which room will be bigger: the Aggie room or the Yankee room?
Merry Christmas to everyone. If you can't be with the ones you love, love the ones you're with. For you, Token, I hope she's Eva Amurri, Selita Ebanks, or whichever hottie you're currently ogling.
It's not even close, the aggie room will be bigger, and by a lot. Oh and the current nyc main squeeze that I have right now probably wouldn't like me loving my celebrities anymore (although something about eva is so amazing....)
hope this beltre deal with the rangers gets done. The sox would get the rangers 1st rd pick (26th overall i believe) and another supplemental 1st rounder. Deep draft coming up this summer and probably the last one before a slotting system comes into place
and if the rumored deal of 6 years, 90-100 million is true, that seems to be about 2 years and 40 million too much!
MFY sign soriano. Man that's gonna be a tough bullpen to face in 2011 (hopefully they'll be down a few runs in the late innings more with their less impressive rotation, and soriano and mo can stay on the bench).
Rays should have 11 of the first 89 picks in what should be a very deep draft. There's something to look forward to AK
Sox avoid arbitration with Papelbon and Ellsbury. While I am not a huge fan of either of these guys (Pap is shaky at times and needs a deuce, or change up, like nobody I've ever seen before; Jacoby needs to stay healthy - no diving for circus stunt catches; give up the single and then concentrate on the batter) I do like having Ellsbury on the basepaths followed by Crawford.
Closing that loop helps the Sox overall and that makes me just that much happier that Spring Training is almost here!
NYY is still going up and down the aisles at the free agent grocery store. Just picked up a real bargain from the back of the clearance shelf: Andruw Jones for $2,000,000.
