Sometimes you let guys swing away and they ground into double plays, sometimes you let guys steal bases and they get thrown out. It happens when you wouldn't predict it. Hindsight is awesome.

10% isn't hopeless, either, but I'm asking for a guy with a less than 50% productive out rate (and other not incredibly encouraging stats), why its so obvious you risk ~4% to save ~2% on Leonys Martin?

IDK about Gentry and Leonys, but Leonys has grounded into double plays 5 times in 88 chances (6.8%). I would suspect its not hugely different for Gentry and Leonys, as the batter's (second out) speed would be the same.

I was talking about Neil Cotts, boy-o. The guy that was brought in for Yu Darvish.

As for why he took out Cotts for Ross, I don't know. I was thinking I may have put Cotts back out there for an out or two but that's just me.

Statistically poor move turns out worse than it would have been just taking an out = bad managerial decision.

That looks like bad execution. Managers certainly have to bare some of responsibility for their squad's execution, but they've been pretty good with their bunts, no?

The stats still look like a toss-up, to me. Do you have anything to back that up, or are you just going to keep saying "you don't do that"?
