Whoever voted for the like of Armando Benitez and Jacque Jones needs to have their ballot taken away and then be burned alive.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
So did Biggio miss by 1 or 2 votes?

571 ballots * 75% = 428.25

Do they round up or to the nearest whole number?

Check out their career stats......pathetic.

Frank Thomas
Jeff Bagwell

.....if Bagwell/Biggio played somewhere else, they are both on the 1st ballot. Their stats also would have been better had they not played a large portion of their careers in the pitcher-friendly Astrodome.

Frank wasn't a one trick pony at all. He and Bagwell actually have very similar numbers.

Unfortunately for Jeff, the steroid stigma is (unfairly) applied to him.

I still remember the Astros sending young pups up to Austin to meet us little leaguers way back when and they sent Shane, Jeff, and Craig. They weren't well known at the time but damn did they become well known.

I think he can still make it in. Biggio is definitely in next year.

The steroid era is brutal in regards to HOF. Just a mess.

I find it hard to care anymore. Baseball is an old man's game, a dying game. I think its a distinct possibility that my grandchildren will find it to be a funny story that grandpa played an old timey game that nobody plays any more.

well, to be fair, they also played a large portion of their career in an incredibly friendly right handed batter's park as well.

Biggio will be in next year, and Bagwell has to shake the unwarranted steroid stigma.

So how can you lump Bagwell into the steroid group but not Thomas? They played at the exact same time

Bagwell on Biggio not getting into HOF "I'm going to say it again. It's a travesty Craig is not in the Hall of Fame."

Buahahaha what????? They played the majority of their careers in one of the best pitchers parks in the history of baseball. Had Bagwell played almost ANYWHERE else he'd be a 500 homer guy

They moved to Minute Maid in 2000. Bagwell only played 6 seasons at MMP. The rest of his 15 year career was played in the Astrodome--which was a very cookie cutter, pitcher friendly ball-park (325,375,400,375,325).

....for almost 2/3 of Bagwell's career, the Astrodome was his home stadium.
