Made another minor league trade today:

The White Sox have acquired hurler Bobby Doran from the Astros, reports MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart (via Twitter). A player to be named later will head back in return, tweets Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle. The 25-year-old righty has pitched in the upper minors since 2012, working as a starter and out of the pen while compiling a 3.83 ERA at the Double-A level and 4.90 mark at Triple-A. He was taken in the fourth round out of Texas Tech back in 2010.

I really think Washington has been the main problem at Texas for a while. They aren't just losing, they are getting blown out almost every game. Even though they've got injuries everywhere, doesn't give the coaches a free pass. In fact, it's just the opposite. Any manager can make the postseason when given a team of top notch talent. I'm not talking about strictly wins and losses either. I'm talking about developing those young guys and turning them competitive. Losing half your team doesn't justify a team flat out quitting. That ones on the coaches.

The difference is that Bo seems to have these guys fighting to win. You rarely see the Astros getting blown out anymore. That's a testimony to Bo. He's developing these guys and making them compete. Like I said, it doesn't mean wins and losses at this point, but it doesn't justify quitting. You still get a sense of the Astros playing to win. I don't feel that when watching the Rangers. They just don't seem to have their heads in the game.

Apples and oranges. Bo has 25 kids hungry to prove themselves and several have quite a bit of talent. Except Chad Qualls, I guess.

Wash, however, has a bunch of 4A players and guys who should be at AA mixed with vets who planned to compete and would have if they didn't have 20 or so regulars on the DL.

Effort isn't the Rangers issue. Bad/young players is the Rangers issue. Wash has nothing to do with that.

Big Bo fan, tho. Great interview.

If I recall correctly, there was an article on Crawfish boxes the other day that said it could be as early as this weekend. If he is that ready, I would just keep him out this one last series before the All Star break
