Feldman cleared waivers. Qualls was claimed. Astros have until Wednesday to work out a trade for Qualls.

If a player is claimed on waivers, there are three options:
1) the team can pull the player back and keep him
2) the team can trade the player to the claiming team
3) the team can give the player to the claiming team (like a salary dump)

If a player clears waivers, he can be traded to any team. Every player can be pulled back from being claimed on waivers one time. If they're placed on waivers a second time and claimed, they have to be traded or given to the claiming team.

Edit: pretty much every player gets placed on waivers. It's a good way for teams to gauge interest and a potential market for their players, even if they don't necessarily have interest in trading them.

I think the deadline is to be on the new teams roster before September 1st.

Good deal. I would think they would get rid of Feldman, just for a salary perspective. But Qualls I would want something in exchange for.

yes. was terrible. I don't blame Veras at all. Worst thing you can do to a pitcher is bring him in with the bases loaded with nobody out, with the two hitter coming up.

Pretty good numbers. I just wish he has more pop. He only has 7 homers (2 for Corpus) in 445 ABs, which is not that much for a corner infield position

According to Gammons, it was the Tigers that claimed Qualls.

Any idea what the long term plan is with deshields? He's a damn good player, but there's just not a spot for him with tube and he doesn't have a good enough arm to be an outfielder from what I've heard

He's in CF right now in Corpus. I think his days at 2B are over, though.

He either learns the outfield, or becomes a very valuable trade asset

His arm will play a little below average in center and average left. He will definitely make up for it in range though.
