Anybody else concerned about Springer missing 2 months with a quad injury?

It's been 5 games since a Carter bomb

Minor League Update now that most minor teams are done:

AJ Reed - Quad Cities, A - .272 Avg, 7 HRs, 24 RBIs. OPS was .854...half of his 34 hits were extra base hits

Colin Moran - CC, AA - .304 Avg, 2 HRs, 22 RBIs, OPS .760. Only 8 extra base hits in 34 hits.

Mark Appel - CC, AA - 1-2, 3.69 ERA in 39 IP. Struggled in his last start

Josh Hader - CC, AA - 1-1, 6.30 ERA in 20 IP. Seems they kept his innings on count.

Preston Tucker - OKC, AAA - .287 Avg, 7 HRs, 51 RBIs, .785 OPS

Daniel Mengden - few rookie leagues - 6-1, 3.27 ERA in 11 IP

Hopefully Correa can come back completely healthy next year to continue the #Process.

Going to be TON of competition for the big club next year.

All depends on what return we would get. If it's minimal I say keep him as a DH

I'm curious to see the numbers on the starting pitching for the Astros this year. I can't recall very many very bad starts. They all seem to be at least solid (even Peacock recently).

Carter gets you a lot of HR and RBIs for a cheap salary, although he is arbitration eligible in 2015. His salary will go up from the $510k he's getting paid now.

They had the same problem last year and addressed it by bringing in Crain, Albers, and Qualls. If they are all healthy next year, this could be a winning ballclub.

But I thought Qualls was garbage and we hated him...I'm so confused.

Qualls would work out as a 7th inning type, not a closer.

Yup, Crain was supposed to be the closer with Qualls and Albers as potential set up men.

We can only hope Luhnow is Morey 2.0. He's take a good team that lost its 2 superstars with zero return yet someone risen back up without ever having a losing season even though the team was full of not so great role players. Rockets now have 2 stars still in their prime with the ability to add another or add top tier role players.
