Lane could hit the hell out of a fastball. Anyone with a below average breaking ball they could throw for a strike made him look downright foolish.

I agree that we shouldn't make any moves simply for short term. I can accept a team losing 90+ if they are sticking with a plan that's working. Thinking we were something we aren't is what got this team in such bad shape to begin with.

The good news is that we are on pace for 71 wins; a full 9 games below the 100 loss marker. We could go 35-63 (.357 winning percentage) the rest of the year and still have less than 100 losses on the season.

Correa is up to .330 and he really has to be on the lookout for a callup to Corpus. Once he is in the lineup there I'm taking my son to catch a game.

Correa has a .419 OBP and 20 stolen bases. I like it

Move him on up to double A.

And power rankings are bull****. It's the one time you ignore overall record and rank teams based on who's hot. And.. we are one of the 3 hottest teams. It's literally a case of nobody paying attention to more than a headline here and there.

It's crazy how little attention we've been getting, especially after hitting 2 grand slams in a game. If any other team did it, it would be all over. However, yesterday's game hardly got any attention, and no one even showed or mentioned Carter's grand slam

NO reason for anyone to care about the stros but us. In 2-3 years we'll be at the top of the standings and in the playoffs.

We've got a good chance for a 4 game sweep here against Arizona

I figured they would let him play the All Star game first. The JetHawks should be well represented. Correa, Kemp, Hader, McCullers should all be on that squad. Kyle Westwood is another candidate.

Gotta love the 4 game home and home series.

Domingo Santana is already on the 40 man, so he'll at least get a Sept call up

I could see Folty or Tropeano making their way from OKC to Houston the second half of the year, too.

And maybe Santana.. though I'm a fan of leaving him down all year to work on reading pitches and not striking out. He's a lot like carter where he seems to think everything is a fastball and swings accordingly.

In fact. I think Singleton also needs to work on that, though he draws walks which shows he has an eye.

Look at the last 30 days for the guys under .200. They are all around .250 or better in the last month. It shows in the winning percentage.

Santana will def. get a shot. Esp with our black hole in Left. I'd love to see Folty come up and help but I really think they want to be as careful as possible with him. I'd say they would probably cap him in the 140 inning area and he is already at 62. He is a northern guy who didn't throw alot as a kid so they are going to be oh so careful.
Tropeano needs a shot and could get a look in the bullpen. He has got to be better than Clemens.

Those guys could come before September but when September gets here you could see as many as 10 guys get a call.

Do we really expect much out of Wates? I know it doesn't hurt to bring him up and see what he can do but I see him as more of a bench/platoon player at best.

was just thinking about bshermangigem17's post recently about an abundance of outfielders in the Red Sox organization, and maybe going after one. And bear with me here, I mean, really bear with me. Could Andre Ethier be an option. A couple years ago when he was their everyday guy, and was hitting well, he was having an all star season. Is he remotely close to the type of guy we should get? Or is it a consensus we should find a big power hitting left fielder? And of course the Dodgers would have to eat a bunch of that contract.
