Went to the game with my wife and kids, her parents and my parents for an early Father's Day outing. Had a great time as usual. It was especially great because it was my son's first Astros game. He won't likely remember because he's too little, but it's a day I won't ever forget. It was a great day.

Good job dad!

I've taken my boy to opening day every year since he's been alive, first one he was two months old! Now he's 3 and he probably goes to 5-6 games a year, he digs it.

I think Springer is 0-10 with 8 strikeouts this series. I think if he starts shortening up his swing earlier in the count, he should improve the k problem

He's not watching the ball and he's guessing a lot. Need to take a day off and watch video of every strike out this season.

Springer is always going to strike out a lot but he's also going to hit for a lot of power while giving you a plus defender in either right or center field. He'll also take his fair share of walks and steal you some bases too.

Springer is a rookie there will be ups and downs but he will be ok. He's never going to hit for a great average but I figure most people knew that.

Now can we please get rid of peacock? He is horrible. Can't throw strikes and puts stress on our bullpen every time out because he can't get through 5 innings

Singleton was also out yesterday. When you combine that with a slumping springer, it's not gonna be easy to win games, especially when you have peacock on the mound

AL all star voting update was released today. Altuve is in a distant 5th place for 2nd basemen, and unsurprisingly, Springer isn't even listed (don't even think he's on the ballot). Be prepared for another 1 all star year

High School righty Jacob Nix, the fifth-round choice of the Astros, has agreed to sign, reports Mark Berman of Houston FOX 26 (Twitter links). He was taken with the 136th choice, which comes with a $370.5K allocation. While terms remain unreported, Nix says that “for the amount that I wanted to take me away from UCLA, I’m really surprised we were able to get it done.”
