I've been keeping up with the top 20 prospect list for the season, but one thing confuses me. I really want to see DeShields succeed, but how is he our 6th ranked prospect? He's above other outfielders such as Santana, Teoscar Hernandez, and Preston Tucker who all look to be playing better now AND seem have higher ceilings then DeShields (atleast in my opinion).The one thing I think that DeShields has over them is speed.

Deshields is ranked that high because of his name and the fact that the Astros drafted him about 30 spots higher than anybody else would have. He did get beaned in the face with a 94 mph fastball earlier this year so maybe the after affects of that are hurting him a bit. He's also still pretty young for AA so he has that going for him.

I really didn't think there was any chance we would see Santana this season.

Santana is a big whiffer who takes time to warm up to higher levels. Still extremely young. I would really rather have Austin Wates get his shot and let Santana mature more in AAA, but too late now.

Looking like we will be swept at home by the Mariners... Terrible stretch of baseball here lately. Let's hope we right the ship here the next three series and go into the break on a positive note.
