So last night on the radio broadcast the had Reed on and he said his pitching days are over and he's only playing 1B now. That was a little strange to me, considering Singleton's deal.

Strange? Not to me. It's obvious he went that high because he was one of, if not the, best hitter in college baseball. Were in the AL now. Singleton and Reed can be in the line up as DH and 1st.

AJ Reed had 23 home runs last year. The entire A&M team had 25.

We had this problem before. Bag was at first and Berkman was rising quick. Ended up moving Berkman to LF. He could have been a DH if we were in the AL then.

I'd be surprised if we see him anywhere besides DH unless something crazy bad happens to singleton. I have a feeling we'll just try and get him up here as soon as possible

Reed is a great insurance policy for Singleton. Also, we can drop Carter quicker if Reed makes his way to Houston quickly.

With Tucker moving to AAA, Robbie Grossman better be looking over his shoulder. Heck, Tucker could settle into the DH role as well.

I see what you are saying. Its probably easier to find a bat to fill that role and not a high draft pick, but Ortiz was a full time DH at 26 so its happened before and been successful.
