ORAggieFan isn't bad people. Give him his moment of success... it has been long in coming. He has been here a while and has anticipated Seattle's success for years. We've talked about consistent pitching in their minors and he gets beaten on regularly as Seattle fades each year.
I didn't take his comments as anything more than him taking advantage of the moment Seattle is moving in the right direction and both Texas teams below them in the standings. We don't need to be so sensitive. None of the 3 of us have won a WS, so it isn't worth pissing over worst franchise. We've all shared in that misery.

Regarding Rangers fans... times like these you get a chance to see who are baseball fans, who are bandwagon fans... and then you have what I find is common.
Baseball fans (or any team fans) that go quiet. They aren't bad fans... they probably still wear their team gear... but they lurk more than converse, during the down times.
OrAggieFan isn't one of these... he takes his shots year round.
These fans don't post often, but they still follow the team. I will probably still watch\listen to 130+ games... there are a few games I haven't posted because as mentioned... just not enough to post about when your SP gives up 4 ERs in the 1st two innings. Even a bad play or exciting HR doesn't illicit a response when the game is pretty much over. That doesn't mean you aren't watching or don't care.
The Rangers' attendance does benefit from STH sales which affect the overall numbers. In years past they've had to rely of 5,000+ walkup ticket buyers the day of the game. As you talk about butts in seats... the truth is, if you have sold enough season tickets... walkups get reduced because the selection of seats are less. When a team is doing poorly, those fans might still show up, but not willing to sit in Grand Prairie to watch the game.
The Rangers get high marks, IMO, for fan attendance because even when they didn't do well, they were still pulling in good attendance. The fact they may have more STH this year is a positive for a team that has over the past 3 years, allowed many marquise players leave, replacing them with "hopefuls." Losing Kinsler, Murphy and Nathan last year... knowing Holland was injured. We knew in the offseason this season was full of hope.
To a lesser baseball fan, names like Choo and Fielder really didn't mean anything, as a lesser fan might not know who they are. Bandwagon fans barely know who is on their team... let alone other teams not in the division.
Let's all get along and quit fighting for who is the worst franchise with the worst fans. We know that goes to the people\teams east of the Mississippi.
