I can't believe the Astros haven't caught them already. This **** is fugly.

How the hell is Carlos Pena still our 1B? There seriously has to be someone at AAA that could use some time in the majors. Anyone would be better than that guy. I mean you can't expect much for a guy who we signed off the couch and was released by the sorry Astros last season. Also, I really wanted to like Michael Choice, but it is pretty obvious he's not ready for the bigs yet. Send him down to AAA to get some work down there and call up another OF. Btw, anyone know when Jim Adduci is supposed to be back? He definitely would be an upgrade at 1B over Pena!

As of 10 days ago, Aducci was still sporting a splint and couldn't grip a bat yet. I think he took some infield, but that was all he could do. Hoping for significant production from him, even if he'd stayed healthy, was already stretch. Now I'm doubtful we'll see much production at all from him this year.

Sadly... Nick Martinez may go on the DL for a pulled shoulder muscle he got while taking batting practice in NY.

Which means we'll shuffle in another Minor league pitcher.

I think we should be getting some updates on the injury front. Isn't there usually a Monday or Tuesday update?

Adduci hasn't begun rehab (ie he hasn't played in a minor league game since June 7).
