Conventional wisdom has the Rangers delaying Darvish's start from the O's to the Mets has a favorable performance expected. Will this be Darvish's first PERFECT GAME? We'll find out soon enough.

I think we all know how bad the Rangers are.

Neftali didn't look completely awful. Great sign.

How hard did Feliz throw it? Did he crack 95? Last I heard his fastball was low 90s at best.

Topped out 96. Mostly 93-94 first inning; 90-92 second inning. Breaker dipped to 80.

And Oak just picked up two of the best SPs available.

Hopefully they perform as well as the Cubs pitchers the Rangers traded for.

The minors are well stocked at the lower levels with OFs.
We have SSs at almost every level.

I think we need some 1B depth at the upper levels (AA and AAA), as well as OF. Choice needs to come around.

We always could use SP.

Relievers always get good return at the trade deadline, but apparently all of our relievers have decided they like it here and are doing whatever they can to hurt their trade value.

It is really hard to keep a cool head and not just fall in to the trade anyone and everyone camp. Funny how quick we (or at least I) can get complacent and take good baseball for granted.

This team is what it is, a MASH unit. I look for a return next year, especially if we can go out and get another quality SP, but I'll still enjoy watching through September. At least now we know we have good players waiting on the DL, unlike 7-10 years ago

When will Bartolo retire?

Why send Pena? CF was playing very shallow. Slowpoke throw still plenty to get him.

We won't get to do much with the International signing this month... so that's a downer.

Time to start familiarizing ourselves with the minors and who to be watching. Spokane is up and running... Rookie ball is doing well...

Hickory, Myrtle Beach, Frisco... Round Rock...

Scott Lucas does a great job with the minors.

One last point... we have some pieces to trade, so that will be like a nice controlled "draft."
