I do fantasy and was wanting to do some daily money leagues. I think FD will match your first $200?

The $200 match is very misleading. They don't just give you $200. You get so many fanduel points per contest that you enter. Once you get certain amount of points then they will give you X amount of dollars into your account. The ratio of points needed to unlock the full $200 is outrageous. I went through my $200 I deposited and I think got like $30 free. So beware!!

I'm on Draft Kings, Jaeger62 if anyone would like to challenge. Maybe we could get a TexAgs league going on there?

For me, they release something like $0.08 of my "matching" offer for every contest I enter. That doesn't really help. Most people will probably run their bankroll dry before they get the full "match".

Yea that's what I'm talking about you'll have to deposit quite a bit more money until you get that full "match."

Very to new to all of this. Which one would you recommend for a newbie?

Ive played about 15 matches in multiple sports. I've won once. I'm bad, but I love it.

Does anyone have an insider they follow with a good record who posts daily lineups?

In basketball your goal is 5x-6x salary in order to put you in tournament contention. Is there a parameter like this for baseball?

Draft kings has some free entry contests that you can try out to get idea of how it works. I haven't seen any free ones on fan duel.

Whelp, my fanduel lineup finished with 12 points.

Probably the only time I'll finish 1st all season long

I had Keuchel, who was money last year.

Problem was the rest of my team totaled -5 points.

I had Pujols, Zunino, Altuve, Granderson, Cuddyer.. blah blah.

I suck.

Trying it tonight for the first time. Did it for free on DraftKings though.

Got in the money again even though I threw Jesse Hahn last night. Freeman, Freese, and Pagan helped a ton.

Tonight I'm hoping the high K Astros swing and miss with Carrasco. I'm going to keep stacking Atlanta's Jace Peterson ($2200 on Fanduel...can't beat that) and Freeman until they stop producing. Also hoping the Rockies continue their run tonight. Arizona is another team to stack tonight but I didn't find anywhere in the lineup to put them.

4-1 so far, only L came in an opening day tourny. I thought I was done for last night after I threw Holland, but my Red Sox hitters helped me out with their marathon game. That's why I love the 50/50s.

Playing in a couple of contests today, one early and then one late. Good mix of teams throwing their aces while others are on their 5th starter -- going to get a good mix of aces and hitting today.

Lineups for Sunday. Top is a 50/50, bottom is a GPP. I'm 5-0 on 50/50 lineups so far (knock on wood), but my two lineups I've entered for GPP contests have ranked near the bottom. Gotta figure out how to get better at those.

First night I didn't cash in 50/50. Stacked up on LAA bats, the wrong Baltimore bats, and some A's.

Also had Carlos Carraseco throwing in one. That hurt. -2 from a pitcher.

Fluke. Poor dude took a liner to the grill.

New strategy I think is to choose 2-3 pitching options (last night was Lynn, Morrow, and Niese) along with several core hitters and build lineups around them and enter multiple contests with different lineups. Won 5/6 with that strategy last night, making about $3.

Someone asked earlier in the thread for the relationship of salary cap to points to be able to cash -- I've found so far this year for most of the 50/50s I enter, you want to be between 30-35 points to make above the 50% mark. That's about a point per $1000 cap money. If you want to enter tournaments, you need to be 2x that to get into the prize money.

For those looking to get into this, here are some good resources I've found so far in the past week (all free) --

Rotocurve.com is a new startup site that just launched and is aimed to help out beginners. They have a couple of videos every day about what is going on in baseball overall, who are good players to play right now, and who to avoid. They are also building several tools to help us out.

FantasyAlarm posts MLB lineups for that day so you can see who is playing and who is not. I use this religiously every day to find out who is in/out and in what order they are in the lineup. They also post cost of each player, but be careful because they can flip FanDuel and DraftKings cost around sometimes

FTAWeather is the best website I've found for daily weather reports, in case you want to check and make sure a game is going to be played. There system is simple -- green is good to go, yellow is cautious (continue to monitor) and red is a probable delay or cancelation. Also gives you wind direction/speed.

Reddit DFSports is also a great subforum with good daily fantasy sports discussion/strategy. They have a daily MLB thread were posters will give their thoughts on who to play at each position. You can also find other tools there as well to use at your own will.

We play solely gpp. Everybody says pitching is the most important thing. I'm learning that it isn't. Your hitters nred to avg. about 6 pts to win, even with a pitcher getting 20. 6 pts from all 8 hitters is hard to do. So you really need 2 guys to go 10+. To me, the best course of action is 2 mini stacks, a buy up, and a middling pitcher.

Anyone want to do a private fanduel league tomorrow or Tuesday? I'll create it. We can 50/50 or winner take all.

I'd be in. I've been playing DraftKings the last two weeks over FanDuel ever since they screwed with the prices. That really pissed me off. I actually find DraftKings to be much easier. Plus you can enter smaller contest pools (a 20 person 50/50 rather than a 100 person) which I actually find easier as well since most of the group will be on someone like Kershaw tonight, and if he goes full tilt and gives up 7 runs, you're okay because everyone had him too. The larger the contest size, the less you see that.

Just my opinion.

Signed up for DK yesterday. Played in two games and won $25 on $7 in entry fees. I wasn't aware of the difference in scoring. I almost want to say I like it better, though people can get a lot more lucky from players that would be having unproductive nights on FD.

Anyway,

I'm willing to set up a private game on either site for tonight. $5 entry. If anyone is interested let me know. It starts at 7:00 eastern.

Let's get a head count so I can create the game by 4:00.
