That was me last night. Tonight went south fast. I'm 0-5 on fanduel and 0-1 and in last place in my DK league.

I guess you cant ride guys like Vogt, Reddick, Springer, and Altuve EVERY night.

It really is hard. I dont do many lineups at all if I can't sit in front of a computer for at least 15 minutes and make a lineup after 5PM. I love rotowire's daily lineup breakdown.

I pick my pitcher first always.
I look at over/under and try to stay below 7.5
I look at favorites..try to stay above -140
And then I look at the MLB K per 9 list after the all star break....and you can find some sleepers. Gotta get that win on fanduel.

Bam pick pitcher.

Then I look at games over 8 (O/U) for the rest of my roster....look for cheap leadoff guys (went with Burns (Oak) and Betts (Boston) tonight. Look at the weather (Colorado and Zona game is cancelled) and then try my best to go lefty vs. righty the rest of the way. I win more than I lose....but it is still a lot of luck and lucky breaks.


I play TOTALLY different rosters when I'm playing tourney ...than if I'm doing head to head or 50/50.

Tournament play I always go moderate pitcher/
50/50 head to head I always try to go the expensive pitcher

Let me know if yall have any other thoughts. NEVER EVER try to remember the lineup you had before you change it last minute....those always hurt.

Yeah, I need to factor in a lot more of those things. I generally stay up to date with teams and players, so I know whos hot and whos not, and I make big decisions based on the pitcher they are facing, lefty righty, home and away.

For the week up I'm up pretty big. Still sucks to have 0fer nights.

I had Altuve in almost all my lineups last night. He is a must play against LHP, even at the high price, and he just didn't come through. Really frustrating. I also had some Reddick exposure just because he has been the hottest hitter in baseball, but that didn't work out either.

Last night was a tough night because of the pitching -- if you didn't get 20 or 25 points from both pitchers on DK last night, you were really in the hole. I played Cashner in two of my five contests last night, and lost both just due to Cashner not getting anything positive. Really frustrating. Also hard for GPPs since everyone's pitching came through. You didn't really catch an edge there.

That's a fairly straightforward and good overall strategy Ryno. Another thing I try to limit myself is too much exposure with one team or one game in 50/50s. I don't play more than two players from one team at a time, just in case they don't come through. Then my whole lineup isn't hurt. Astros are a good example last night. Was easy to go crazy on them with Wandy on the mound, but I tried to limit myself to just Altuve and Marwin Gonzalez (great salary). Even though Altuve got me a 0, my lineups were still okay with Teixeira, Ellsbury, and Carpenter carrying me and making up for it.

GPP is a different animal. You can stack teams and hope you get lucky with that particular team going off. You'll have great nights, and nights you finish with the lowest score because it just didn't work out. That's the way baseball go.

In one DK league last night, a guy finished top 10 with every hitter as a Yankee.

I hate when idiots beat me because their team had a hot game. But that's the nature of the beast.
