This is why the world series atmosphere will suck compared to the ALCS or ALDS. Majority of people who can afford it are corporate hacks
I went to all home Playoff games before the WS. I went to Game 3 of the WS on Friday and let someone else use my ticket Sat and Sun.

I don't really regret it other than missing such a great game last night. I sat all over the park during the playoffs, we had field level 1st base side, club section both 1st and 3rd base side. The ALCS was a crazier environment than the WS game I went to friday and I sat in the lower field level on the last row, so I could see the entire section.

They stood a lot less during big pitches or at bats. The yelling was not as loud.

Don't get me wrong. It was a crazy atmosphere and worth attending as a bucket list item, but I got the feeling that many of the people there were bandwagon type fans that just went because they could afford it and it was a once in a lifetime type opportunity.

The park was definitely more packed than I have ever experienced in my life. Taking 20 mins go walk just a few sections. It reminded me of being at Kyle Field for the first home game we played Bama.

Went to 2 ALCS games (Sec 105 & 106) and Fri night game 3 of WS (Sec 116 behind home plate/visitor dugout). At first I was worried it would be a bunch of people that were not as big of Astros fans but had access to tickets, but once the game started I felt differently. We stood constantly and the fans were pretty rowdy. Can't say for sure how the overall noise compared but it sounded about the same as the ALCS to me.

Any event that is $1000/ticket for halfway decent seats is going to skew towards the corporate/business side.

But a World Series crowd is still the best championship game crowd in any major sport. NFL obviously is somewhat sterile because it's a neutral field... But I've been to a Stanley Cup and NBA Finals game and neither match the fan intensity of a World Series game.

I would agree with that. I would like to go to a game 7 world series game some day, but I have to say the game 7 ALCS game this year was the most intense crowd I've witnessed at a sporting event outside of college football.

Baseball playoffs are just a different breed IMO. I'm not a big hockey fan and have only done one Stanley Cup game (or NHL Playoffs for that matter) so can't comment a lot on that. But basketball is the type of game where one shot in the first 40 minutes of play isn't going to make or break things.

Every at-bat in a MLB playoff game -- especially a Game 7 -- could be the difference in the season being over. It's just nerve-racking from first pitch... You never feel comfortable.

Yep I was shocked at how intense it was from the jump in the top of the first. Standing for the every 2 strike count, etc. It was immediately intense and awesome. I was in 114 and it was plenty rowdy, even with a big block of Dodger fans behind us.
