I am impressed that a Houston fan was able to dial up Fregosi for the Rangers//Angels square. He was my pick as well.
Note: Fregosi also qualified for the Mets/Angels square as well.

Despite being an Astros fan I don't hate the Rangers (have some issues with some of the fanbase but nothing against the franchise itself). In my formative years as a baseball fan the teams were in separate leagues and there was no interleague play so I truly followed both teams, I favored the Astros but the Rangers were definitely my favorite AL team. The family lived in Dallas in the mid '70s so I'm pretty familiar with Ranger players from the era. Also attend many a game in Arlington when I lived in B/CS, to see Nolan in his final seasons, Aggies when they were in town, or just players like Griffey Jr or Ripken with them being in the AL never made it to Houston before interleague play.

Ditto for the old days being a fan of both teams, when they were in separate leagues.

Luis Gonzalez never played RF for the DBacks; knew he was a primary LF, but thought he may have slid over a time or two. I am not as good with the DBacks and their players, without using an obvious one from recent teams.

R. Washington, Brunansky, M. Marshall
C. Counsell, X, J. Diekman
U L Washington, A. Cowens, Granger

It really grinds my gears that the Tigers have been SO bad for SO long that a guy who retired 95 years ago and died during the Kennedy administration is a TOP PICK. And I don't even LIKE the Tigers!

I'm a little surprised Cobb was the top pick for the for 100+ run season for Detroit... Usually really old school HoFers are not even if they are the obvious pick (or at least for me). In hindsight switching Cobb and Greenberg would have been better for the old rarity score. Overall, considering I did not put too much thought into my choices and went mostly with the first name that came to mind, except for the Astros, a solid score.
